(More customer reviews)I got this for Christmas and tried it out first time with whole wheat rotini pasta.
The pasta turned out fine. This is also supposed to cook vegetables, shrimp and different types of pasta. It cut down on my cooking time and I didn't have to deal with the steam from cooking and draining pasta the traditional way. It may not work for a large pasta meal, the amount of pasta it will cook will probably serve 2-4 people.
I recommend this product for convenience and reduced cooking time. Now I just have to worry about one pot on the stove for the pasta sauce.

Tristar Pasta Express "As Seen on TV" - PEX Review

It also didn't work with vegetables either. it should be taken of the market. I have a microwave rice cooker that works much better.

(More customer reviews)Every woman who sees it in my kitchen wants to know immediately where they can get a little blue colander (color: marine) just like my 24 oz. Zak!. It's just about the only thing I haven't been willing to give away - my lack of generosity extending even to both my daughters when they expressed their desires to have it. So they won't be tempted to fight over it following my demise, I thought I would research it to see if I could find at least two blue Zak!s colanders- and possibly more for all my kitchen-visiting friends. Probably more than any other kitchen aide, my handy, little blue Zak! Designs colander is my constant companion. I find myself grabbing it many times daily - to rinse and drain fruit, veggies, or pasta for two. Also, it is light in weight and small, takes little space in the top of the dishwasher, and seemingly is indestructible, having been dropped on my tile floor several times without damage. Because of its pleasing color and shape and usableness, it often finds itself sitting out with fruit or veggies and not put away in the cabinet. I simply couldn't do without my Zak! It's my true blue friend!

(More customer reviews)I had to give this product two stars for the concept and at least one star because it does exactly what the manufacturer says it does, but nothing more plus not everything you make using this product turns out completely awful. Versatile this tool is not! To start your vegetables must be 1-inch in diameter and 3-1/2 inches in length. After you've finished cutting you are left with at least 1-inch of unuseable vegetable, unless you're willing to do the rest of your creative cutting by hand, not only does this limit you but it also creates a great deal of waste. You have only 2 blade choices which are housed in a poorly constructed plastic contraption that easily separates if pressed on in the wrong spot.
You have your choice of either Spaghetti type strands or spiral slices but don't expect anything pretty with your spaghetti strands because your only option is a very fine tooth edged blade which creates very fine strands of mush depending on what you're cutting. However, this product does have one redeeming trait and that's with the use of the flat edged blade it does create fairly nice looking spiral slices. If you're expecting true versatility than you will have to cough up the dough for "The Benriner Cooks Helper", "Benriner Cook Help" or the "Benriner Asian Sprial Slicer" (they're all the same) which gives you (3) Tooth edged blades (fine, medium and Coarse) as well as (1) flat edged blade, the size of your vegetables do still matter for cutting but you don't throw away nearly as much. Shop around for the best price!

(More customer reviews)This is good sauce. The packaging is great, a pouch that stores easily upright and takes up little space in your cupboard. No bulky jars to take up space. The heating is also very convenient, just clip a corner and pop in microwave... couldn't be easier. Flavor is good, it's mild and easily doctored with a few spices.
What I didn't like about this is there isn't quite enough for one pound of cooked pasta. And that's how most pasta comes packaged, is in one pound packages. Two of these would be way too much. So, I found I needed to add a little bit more to the mix. Otherwise, really good stuff.

(More customer reviews)I bought a huge case of these knorr pesto sauces because my fiancee and I used to eat them a year ago all the time and back then they were delicious. But then we moved and my local grocery store did not carry the knorr pasta sauces. However when they arrived and I opened the package I was in for a big disappointment. One thing I used to love about knorr was they used real ingredients-real parmesan and romano cheeses. Apparently not any more. Now this sauce mix is completely artificial-corn starch and preservatives and artificial flavors-blech! It doesn't taste anywhere near as good as the original.
However I give it three stars because it's still tastes better than a lot of the sauces in the store and at least you can use olive oil in your sauce instead of the vegetable oil based sauces in the store. Knorr should be ashamed for ruining a great product. If they had stuck to the original recipe, I'd have given it five stars. I know they are saving money by using artificial ingredients but the cost is too high as this affects the taste and our health. I wouldn't have bought 24 packs if I had known the recipe had changed. I hope they will reconsider the change and put real ingredients back in this product. Here are the ingredients since Amazon doesn't list them:
Maltodextrin, corn starch, wheat flower, salt, whey (milk), monosodium glutamate,spinach, garlic powder, basil, sugar, natural flavor (soy), onion powder, spice

There's a suggestion on the box for creamy Caesar salad. It calls for mayonnaise and milk.

Health Hint: May I suggest, instead of adding vewgetable oil, use 1 or 2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil instead.

When cooked, it holds shape...does not get mushy. it does have a different texture than regular pasta. it's worth a try to see if it works for you.

Instant soups are also a great flavor maker for your own soup creations. I use one cup of instant soup as a flavorful broth or base to add to a double soup made from beans [Westbrae beans are great!] and fresh veggies. Use your imagination and enjoy. Easy and fun. Prepare the instant soup and then add to the simmering or pre-cooked bigger pot containing the other ingredients. Heat together, stir, and serve. 140 calories, 8g protein, and 590mg sodium per cup. When preparing the cup of soup, it is important to let it stand re-covered as recommended for 5+ minutes and stir well. Nice vegan "top up" for those not yet on Amazon Prime and might need another item to qualify for Super Saver Shipping. I use them in cold summer salads and as a tasty addition to pasta dishes and casseroles. The contents of one package is just the right amount for most recipes, but the resealable pouch allows you to use as much as you want and save the rest.

(More customer reviews)This pasta is fine in terms of taste, but the letters are so tiny that my son doesn't like them. He used to love the Trader Joe's alphabet pasta but they stopped making it. I bought this as a replacement. The letters, being so small, end up all over the place. I have to pick them out of the holes in the colander and out of the rug when he spills. This might be fun in a soup or a casserole but not as a pasta dish on it's own. I think I'll just use the rest of the uncooked noodles in a craft project. Perhaps we can sprinkle it like glitter on a greeting card.
