(More customer reviews)It comes in the factory box, so if it is a gift, be aware of this as it might ruin the surprise. The quality and sturdiness of this appliance is evident immediately out of the box.
The instruction book has a bit of a recipe book in the front of it, so you might check that out if you don't normally read instruction books.
It is very straightforward and easy to use. It heats up very quickly, and sears to perfection. The directions say to let it heat for 10 minutes before using but I've not waited that long.
I love the way the plug has an "O" in it so you can hook a finger in to unplug it. I wish all appliances were like that! It's a cord of decent length too, and it's well insulated. The top detaches from the base. I had no problem detaching mine. Reattaching, now that was a bit of a problem until I realized you have to PUSH DOWN on the turning handle and then turn, like a childproof cap- THEN it was easy.
Clean up is great- it is highly nonstick. The only potential problem that I see is that there is a bit of space between the handles and the wok that food could fall or drip and that could be hard to clean if it dried. Of course, the WHOLE thing detaches from the base and it can be put in a dishwasher.
To store you can put a couple of paper towels in it, and place the cord on those, then put the lid on upside down. It is BIG though, so storage could be a problem.
We plan on using ours outside a lot this summer, as it will be perfect on the picnic table on hot days when we don't want to heat the house up cooking. I'll prep early in the day, then cook and serve from the wok itself for evening meals by the pool.

I can create a full bowl or two of zucchini or cucumber "pasta" with it easily. Any more and I'd be tempted to get a spiralizer, but, being a minimalist, I love this gadget. The teeth are very sharp, so I do keep the plastic cover on while it's in the drawer and ease it on/off carefully. Quick delivery & great price, too!

MIU France 90003 Vegetable Julienne Slicer, ABS Plastic, White Review

This makes 2 types of cuts, a "ribbon" cut and a "shred" cut. You can also make various slices and cubes by making cuts in the vegetable before inserting into the slicer.
I love to mix raw carrot shreds (much longer and thinner than pre shredded bagged stuff you can buy), I think of it as carrot "angel hair" with cucumber ribbon, and other shreds like daikon and jicama for veggie "pasta salads". Steamed zucchini, carrot, and parsnip shreds make a great substitute for pasta with tomato sauce.
If these are things you think you'll eat a lot and you like gadgets, this is a good buy. If you're looking to make perfect fancy garnishes, this isn't as precise as the expensive model spiral slicers. (or as versatile, I think some of the $250 models make more different sizes of shreds.)
Note on using it: read the instructions. You need to cut the ends of the vegetable even to get good shreds, and you need to apply steady downward pressure to the handle while turning, or you wont get long continuous ribbons or shreds. If this kind of thing is not instinctive to you, it may take some practice. Don't give up afer your first try, buy a big bag of carrots and practice the rotation/pressure to get it right.
So far it has cleaned up really well and pretty quickly, but you'll want to rinse it right after use because veggie matter does stick in the "shreds" blade and if it dries could be a pain to clean out. (carrots will stain the white plastic part orange, but it doesn't hurt it any.)
I love it and use it almost every day, but I wouldn't call it a "must have" for everyone. If you're not really excited about the prospect of shredded veggies for a salad or veggies as an alternative to pasta, you probably would not use it much.
if you could adjust the thickness of the ribbons/shreds and it were a teensy bit sturdier, I'd give this five stars.

(More customer reviews)I purchased a case of Paldo Hot & Spicy Noodles from amazon and have had 4 bowls so far. I found them to be a decent, if slightly bland noodle.
Positives:
Price
spice slowly builds as you eat
not as salty as some other cheap noodles
noodles soften up better than some other brands
Negatives:
vegetables do not puff up and soften as well as the noodles
never achieves a level of hot that deserves the title "Hot & Spicy"
oil in the soup itself separates quickly if you eat the noodles slow, imparting a oily film in your mouth
Overall I found the Paldo noodles to be a nice change from the usually salty noodles you get at this price point, but was not impressed enough to buy them again.

(More customer reviews)Roland's chicken-flavor Noodles Cup is one of the best instant noodle products I've eaten. What makes it so good is the savory taste the chicken flavor packet imparts to the noodles. Additionally, I like it because it contains a minimum of ingredients. The only remotely "controversial" components are yeast extract and hydrolyzed soy protein, which some people have likened to MSG, as they are chemically similar. They add great flavor, though.
I would like to point out that when I make these, I never use the little packet of dried vegetables. They don't rehydrate very well. However, the ramen is excellent without them.
Additionally, Amazon has a great deal on this 12-pack; it's definitely less than I would pay for 12 of these in a store.

(More customer reviews)yes, it's full of salt, msg and other lovely stuff, but it can't be any worse than what you eat at many typical restaurants. i can handle a LOT of spice. seriously. in fact, sometimes i add a squirt of sriracha sauce on each bite when feeling indulgent. but this noodle would be spicy for some - if you can't handle the heat, get the sapporo ichiban's ramen. (or add less soup base, but more on that later.)
if you don't count the high-priced specialty brand that i can't remember the name of (eh, it wasn't that good), this product also seems to have the distinction of being the only vegetarian instant ramen, thanks to the more accurate labeling of international food products. in case you're a vegetarian searching for the ingredients, here it is as printed on the package, complete with spelling errors:
noodles: wheat flour, modified starch, palm oil, salt, gluten.
soup base: salt, monosodium l-glutmate, sugar, capsicum, ginger powder, red pepper, bean protein.
dried vegetables: green onion, mushroom, carrot, red pepper cabbage.
since one package contains almost 100% recommended intake of sodium for a petite person, this is what i do. besides adding my own fresh veggies, i pour the water out directly from the pot after cooking (thus leaving some in there), then i only add the half of the soup base. i have no desire to drink the liquid part, and i think some of the palm oil also gets release from the noodles. i skip the dried vegetable packet since they just look gross.
you could probably find this at a better price at your local korean grocery market if you have one nearby, but you can't beat the convenience of amazon. for about $1 each subscribe-and-save, it's worth it for me.

(More customer reviews)In our home we strive to eat as many healthy raw foods as possible. We encounter common challenges like eating out, school lunch, weight loss, etc. We currently try to eat about 50% raw.
I got these kelp noodles because I am not really crazy for raw squash noodles for a pasta substitute(we loved them steamed with garlic though). These are super squeaky and crunchy when you eat them raw.

They are great raw to add crunch into stir-frys after you have finished cooking them.(This is a great trick to get more raw veggies into your diet. Leave a few of you veggies like shredded cabbage, green onions, and shredded carrots out while cooking and then add them back in after the dish is cooked.)
They are great cooked for a noodles substitute. Cooked, I find them like rice or bean curd noodles you would find in the asian section of the grocery store or asian market.
They are very mild tasting so they take on what ever flavor you would like. Kelp or any sea vegetables are super healthy for you. These are a great way to get them into your diet, if you don't normally like the strong flavors of nori or any of the other sea veggies. Oh and these are TRUELY RAW. No false labeling here! Yeah!

Annie Chun's Udon Soup Noodle Bowl, 5.3-Ounce Bowls (Pack of 6) Review

(More customer reviews)Annie Chun's Udon Soup makes a quick meal that is larger than traditional soup cups and without the reconstituted texture. The soup bowl holds about 3 cups of soup, which is a nice size for lunch. It's all-natural and vegetarian, consisting of noodles in a flavorful soy soup, with dried mushrooms, onions, bok choy, herbs and spices. The ingredients come in 3 packages: a bag of noodles (not dried), a liquid soup base, and a packet of dried soup toppings. Just add boiling water.
Actually, the instructions on the package are unnecessarily complicated. They tell you to add water to loosen the noodles, drain it off, add the other ingredients, and then add more water. This isn't necessary. Maybe you need to loosen the noodles if you are going to microwave the soup. I suggest stirring the noodles after one minute in the microwave. But if you have a kettle handy, empty the 3 packages into your soup bowl, add boiling water up to about a half inch from the top of the bowl, and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes. This is faster, easier and uses less water than the instructions recommend, and the soup comes out perfectly.
Annie Chun suggests adding spinach, snow peas, broccoli, mushrooms, shrimp or tofu to make your soup into a more complete meal. Some of those things would need to be cooked before you add them, but I find that fresh mushrooms and frozen peas make excellent additions that require no pre-cooking. If you put some sliced or diced mushrooms into the soup when you add the boiling water, they will partially cook while they sit for 5 minutes, acquiring a nice dense texture that is neither raw nor limp.
Ingredients: Noodles: wheat flour, water, tapioca starch, lactic acid, salt. Soup Base: soy sauce (water, wheat, soybeans, salt), shiitake mushrooms, sea vegetable, evaporated cane juice, rice wine, yeast extract. Toppings: green onion, maltodextrin, bok choy, tofu, red pepper, shiitake mushrooms, guar gum. Product is manufactured in a facility that uses peanuts. . The soup bowls are made of a corn product [...] that is biodegradable. Not that anything degrades in a landfill, but at least the bowl isn't toxic.

(More customer reviews)I love most of the flavors of this soup, but this is my favorite. I usually add lots of things to it to make it a hearty vegetarian meal. I like to throw broccoli florets into the water before I add the noodles, and then add a fried egg and some marinated tofu cubes. I could live off this meal for months! I am bummed it's not available at Amazon right now. I cannot find these in my area at all!
