(More customer reviews)Vegan. Natural. Low calorie. Very enjoyable instant minestrone soup. Great for anywhere you can get or make hot water. I love vegan soups. Instant soups are also a great flavor maker for your own soup creations. I use one cup of instant soup as a flavorful broth or base to add to a double soup made from beans [Westbrae beans are great!] and fresh veggies. Use your imagination and enjoy. Easy and fun. Prepare the instant soup and then add to the simmering or pre-cooked bigger pot containing the other ingredients. Heat together, stir, and serve. 140 calories, 8g protein, and 590mg sodium per cup. When preparing the cup of soup, it is important to let it stand re-covered as recommended for 5+ minutes and stir well. Nice vegan "top up" for those not yet on Amazon Prime and might need another item to qualify for Super Saver Shipping. Verified all vegan ingredients including the 'natural flavors' with Nile Spice Consumer Affairs on 2009-01-29. This review is out there for those for whom this makes a difference. I prefer this soup to Nile Spice's Black Bean soup, which is less tasty and satisfying in my opinion. This soup's 13g of protein, 8g of fiber, great taste and convenience for $1.00 is the best lunch value I've found.

(More customer reviews)Nile Spice Chicken Flavored Vegetable Soup, Low Fat, 1-Ounce Cups (Pack of 12) is a great tasting item for someone who needs something they can fix quickly at home or work.
TIP: Instructions recommend letting the soup sit for 5 minutes before eating. I suggest 10 is better if you want the noodles and veggies to be soft. Aldente'... go with 5 minutes. Expect that either way you'll be having HOT soup and the mealtime from the time you mix it until you finish eating it may be as long as 30 minutes.
I like the flavor of this soup and the spiral noodles are fun. For me the taste gets better with the addition of a sprinkle or two of seasoning salt. Served with your favorite crackers, this is a fast, tasty meal for lunch or snack.
NOTE: My second favorite flavor of the Nile Spice Soups is their Minestrone (strong tomato flavor) followed by the Lentil. All of the soups benefit from sitting a bit longer than the recommended time for best flavor development.
