Sunny Maid is hard to describe. Picture a food that makes your mouth water when you just think of it. Picture warm, salty, noodles in your mouth.
I can't get enough. Not to mention they don't have any meat in them.

Paldo Hot & Spicy Noodle Soup,3-Ounce Cup (Pack of 12) Review

Paldo Hot and Spicy Noodle Soup,3-Ounce Cup (Pack of 12)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased a case of Paldo Hot & Spicy Noodles from amazon and have had 4 bowls so far. I found them to be a decent, if slightly bland noodle.
Positives:
Price
spice slowly builds as you eat
not as salty as some other cheap noodles
noodles soften up better than some other brands
Negatives:
vegetables do not puff up and soften as well as the noodles
never achieves a level of hot that deserves the title "Hot & Spicy"
oil in the soup itself separates quickly if you eat the noodles slow, imparting a oily film in your mouth
Overall I found the Paldo noodles to be a nice change from the usually salty noodles you get at this price point, but was not impressed enough to buy them again.

Roland Noodles Cup, Chicken Flavor, 2.4-Ounce Package (Pack of 12) Review

Roland Noodles Cup, Chicken Flavor, 2.4-Ounce Package (Pack of 12)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Roland's chicken-flavor Noodles Cup is one of the best instant noodle products I've eaten. What makes it so good is the savory taste the chicken flavor packet imparts to the noodles. Additionally, I like it because it contains a minimum of ingredients. The only remotely "controversial" components are yeast extract and hydrolyzed soy protein, which some people have likened to MSG, as they are chemically similar. They add great flavor, though.
I would like to point out that when I make these, I never use the little packet of dried vegetables. They don't rehydrate very well. However, the ramen is excellent without them.
Additionally, Amazon has a great deal on this 12-pack; it's definitely less than I would pay for 12 of these in a store.

Paldo Hwa Ramyun - Spicy Noodles,4.2-Ounce Pouch (Pack of 20) Review

Average Reviews:

yes, it's full of salt, msg and other lovely stuff, but it can't be any worse than what you eat at many typical restaurants. i can handle a LOT of spice. seriously. in fact, sometimes i add a squirt of sriracha sauce on each bite when feeling indulgent. but this noodle would be spicy for some - if you can't handle the heat, get the sapporo ichiban's ramen. (or add less soup base, but more on that later.)
if you don't count the high-priced specialty brand that i can't remember the name of (eh, it wasn't that good), this product also seems to have the distinction of being the only vegetarian instant ramen, thanks to the more accurate labeling of international food products. in case you're a vegetarian searching for the ingredients, here it is as printed on the package, complete with spelling errors:
noodles: wheat flour, modified starch, palm oil, salt, gluten.
soup base: salt, monosodium l-glutmate, sugar, capsicum, ginger powder, red pepper, bean protein.
dried vegetables: green onion, mushroom, carrot, red pepper cabbage.
since one package contains almost 100% recommended intake of sodium for a petite person, this is what i do. besides adding my own fresh veggies, i pour the water out directly from the pot after cooking (thus leaving some in there), then i only add the half of the soup base. i have no desire to drink the liquid part, and i think some of the palm oil also gets release from the noodles. i skip the dried vegetable packet since they just look gross.
you could probably find this at a better price at your local korean grocery market if you have one nearby, but you can't beat the convenience of amazon. for about $1 each subscribe-and-save, it's worth it for me.

Long Kow Crystal Noodle Soup- 6 Kinds of Mushrooms

I discovered these soups during a camping trip at the end of the summer and have been eating them for lunch on most week days. I love their taste and the portion size. They make for a rather affordable, tasty, filling lunch or snack with under 300 calories. I only wish the packaging was smaller (less wrapping to dispose of) and the soups were more readily available locally but I will survive by ordering them online... Give these little crystal gems a try and you may just find yourself hooked!

Soken Low-Fat Ramen, Sea Vegetable, 3-Ounce Packets (Pack of 12) Review

Soken Low-Fat Ramen, Sea Vegetable, 3-Ounce Packets (Pack of 12)
Average Reviews:

It's getting harder and harder to find non-fried ramen (at least where I live) so this product is filling that void left by local stores.
The texture of the noodles isn't quite as good as some and you wouldn't want to overcook them (they seem susceptible to getting slimy if over cooked even a little). But as long as they aren't overcooked or left too long they are good.
The flavor of the broth isn't super strong but it's reasonably good. I usually put a little extra something in my ramen to make it more interesting (hot sauce, diced spinach, an egg, etc).
All in all a good buy and I'd buy this again.

Although this noodle is the "default" according to my Korean friend, I believe it is the best spicy noodle on the market. It is VERY spicy for those that are not accustomed to spicy food. If you have not tried this noodle before, I'd recommend using only half the chili powder packet. Then adjust as necessary for later meals. I've been eating this noodle for years and years. The recipe that I normally use is:
1 egg
Chinese green onions (chopped)
lemon juice
sesame oil
Bring water to a boil with the noodle in a pot. Then pour out the water and run cold water over the noodle. This cleans the noodles of the materials left over from the manufacturing process. Set noodle aside. Then bring filtered water to a boil with both ingredient packets. It takes several minutes for the dried vegetables to hydrate. Put noodles back in. Add 3-4 drops of lemon juice and 1-2 drops of sesame oil. Add the green onions. Stir. Break the egg over the top of the noodles. Make sure your hands are dry to avoid steam burns! Wait until the egg white turns from translucent to white. Serve over large bowl. Break the egg and allow the yolk to run over the noodles. YUM!

Maruchan Instant Lunch Chicken Flavored Noodle Bowls 24 Pack Review

Maruchan Instant Lunch Chicken Flavored Noodle Bowls 24 Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Maruchan, Inc. of Irvine, California, is a subsidiary of the mighty Japanese conglomerate, Toyo Suisan. They have been making those familiar Ramon noodles for years. Yeah, I know, people like making fun of them, but they are handy products, which I have seen used in a number of recipes.
The Maruchan Instant Lunch is very handy. I keep a supply at home for days when I don't feel like making a lunch. (Although, combining one with a cheese sandwich make a very nice lunch!) Unlike the regular Ramon noodles, the instant lunches come with their own cup, so all you have to do is add water and wait, and you get a delicious soup with lots and lots of noodles. (My parents used to buy these, cook them up, and then pour out the soup, eating only the noodles. But, I think that the soup is very good, and I always eat that up as well!)
Each of these packages contain 290 calories (110 calories from fat), and has 38g of carbs, which is not too bad. It does have a whopping 1,180 mg of sodium (49% of your USDA recommended daily allowance), but I do think that that is to be expected from an instant lunch - many canned soups contain two servings per container, and have about the same amount of sodium per serving, and I have known people to consume an entire can of soup for lunch.
So, let me just say that this is not health food. But, what it is is a convenient, low-cost lunch - one that you can leave sitting in the back of a cupboard, or slip into a backpack for a warm meal on an outing. I highly recommend the Maruchan Instant Lunch!

I love most of the flavors of this soup, but this is my favorite. I usually add lots of things to it to make it a hearty vegetarian meal. This soup is a great value, flavorful, has a great pea-soup consistency, and is very healthy. I prefer this soup to Nile Spice's Black Bean soup, which is less tasty and satisfying in my opinion. This soup's 13g of protein, 8g of fiber, great taste and convenience for $1.00 is the best lunch value I've found.

These noodles remind me of home! I'm originally from California where it's fairly easy to find all types of Asian food, but now that I live in Wisconsin, I'm realizing that those days are over. So I was pretty psyched when these noodles popped up on the Amazon goldbox deal a week ago. They are really spicy and go great with napa cabbage, bean sprouts, and any other veggies you want. I tried them with egg earlier tonight after reading one of the other reviews on amazon, and it was amazing! Highly recommended for people who love spicy food, but also recommended for those (like me) who don't... just add half the seasoning packet!

I keep these soup cups in my desk at work. They're really easy to make with the hot water from the water cooler. Be careful because the cup becomes too hot to hold sometimes.
This is my favorite flavor from this brand line, though it smells funny to coworkers who aren't used to miso! I think it tastes great and makes a good snack or goes great with a sandwich or salad to be a lunch. The noodles are a great addition--regular miso soup is just too watery to be filling.
The seasoning comes in a packet so you can use less and get just as flavorful a meal but have less salt in your diet.
Note the nutrition info link at Amazon is based on half the package. I can't imagine anyone saving the rest for later, and 180 calories for the whole thing isn't exactly too much food! The cups I have purchased locally list it as one 180-cal serving so perhaps packaging has changed. Meanwhile I've had some cups seep a bit while eating them so it's not a container that's going to hold your soup longer than your mealtime. Put a napkin under the cup just in case.
I give it five stars for flavor and convenience but only four total because of the details/execution (leaks, hot cup, half portion nutrition labeling). It also seems a little pricey at two+ bucks each in my local grocery, but it's much better than traditional Ramen.

Maruchan Instant Lunch Ramen Noodles with Vegetables provides a hot, satisfying snack in 3 minutes! Each unit comes in it's own container. Just add boiling water to dry contents inside, re-close lid and 3 minutes later you have a hot soup ready to eat!
This product is not the healthiest thing you might find yourself snacking on, but is certainly not the worst either. The worst thing in this cup of soup is the 59% sodium, which is actually quite a lot of sodium compared to most packaged foods. More sodium, even, than packaged macaroni & cheese, which packs a whole lotta sodium - 41%!
So this isn't the kind of thing you want to eat all the time, and seriously do not expect this item to have enough nutrients to keep a body healthy, by eating it as your only item for meals. I recommend this as a snack item only, and only a few times a week.
As a snack-item only, this soup is very tasty and satisfying - and simple enough to make that anyone able to heat & pour boiling water can have a warm, substantial snack!

The company is called JUST TOMATOES. But they have so much
more. I originally started buying their products for my 4
PARROTS. So now when my family sees me use it in our food
they accuse me of feeding them BIRD FOOD. They have almost
every fruit and vegs you could want. I put the vegs in soups
and stews and I even sprinkle them over green salad. You can
not believe how much flavor they add. I buy the red pepper, onions &
tomatoes to add to sauces. They do not carry the dried mushrooms
any more that I really liked. They will never SPOIL.
The fruits are good snacks for the grandkids. I have a hard time
making them understand you do not need a lot because they are
so concentrated. I like the FRUIT MUNCHIES & STRAWBERRYS
and BANANAS.
The only negative thing I can so is they are EXPENSIVE. $$$$
I wish they were cheaper.
SO BUY SOME AND FEED YOUR FAMILY BIRD FOOD too.
