(More customer reviews)While most members of my family like orange juice, it's much too sweet for my taste, so for a bit of extra Vitamin C, I opt for a fresh orange instead.
And when it comes to my juice drink, I've always liked the flavor of V-8. Not only does it taste good to me, since it's made from tomatoes and seven other vegetables--beets, celery, carrots, lettuce, parsley, watercress and spinach--it's healthy, also. While I get a hint of all those veggies in my V-8, the celery flavor seems dominant to me ... a flavor I love, incidentally. Whether this is unique with me, I have no idea. It's something I don't discuss with friends. All I know is that I can't help but smile as it slides down my throat. Yum ...
Another thing I like about V-8 is that since the kids in the family don't like it (sorry, Campbell's), I never have to worry about running out. But what I don't like about it is that it's high in sodium, thus requiring that I limit myself to 4 ounces every other day.
I know! I know! They make low-sodium V-8, but I've tried it and it's not for me. Just doesn't taste the same! However, in addition to my favorite, the Original, Campbell's also makes several other varieties: Spicy, Lemon, Picante, Low-Sodium, and Organic. I'm also a person who likes "lemon" flavor (such as lemon-meringue pie), so I plan to try the lemon soon.
There's something for everybody, so try it! You might like it! I certainly do! (Since I love the taste of this product so much, I feel guilty giving it a four-star, but I had to knock off one point due to the high-sodium factor.)

(More customer reviews)I've been enjoying carrot juice for years -- home made in my juicer and also another well-known brand sold in the produce department, which is also good. But recently I purchased Lakewood brand and was so disturbed by the taste that I thought the bottle of juice had somehow gone bad. Thinking it was an isolated incident, I didn't say anything about it when my boyfriend bought two more 32 oz. bottles to use in a recipe we planned to make this morning (a wonderful "pumpkin pie" smoothie made with carrot juice, sweet potato and dates). We were making a large quantity, to serve to friends, and it turned out these bottles of juice were terrible too, so we had to scrap the whole plan. There is a real "twangy" almost metallic taste, bordering on rotten carrots. I don't know if it's the pasteurization process or what, but this brand of carrot juice does *not* taste like carrot juice. I would hate for people to buy it and think they don't like carrot juice due to how this tastes. I don't know what their process is, but the end result is very icky. (Sorry, Lakewood -- I really don't like giving bad reviews! But this stuff is not good!)

(More customer reviews)I didn't know if I would like roast carrot soup - sounded a little iffy - but I love the roast pepper tomato and so I thought I would give it a try. Glad I did. It is my new favorite - I am afraid if I go on drinking it at this rate I will turn orange.
I bought a case of the carrot cashew ginger variety too - it is good, even very good, but the roast carrot is better. I add some MTR Rassam* curry powder to it, because I add MTR Rassam curry powder to just about every thing I eat, but it is good without it too.
The only thing is - beware, these are 16-ounce boxes. I had only ever seen the larger 32-ounce size before and did not think clearly when I ordered case after case, thinking I was getting a great deal. At 27 bucks a case this is no steal. It is more than I would pay at Trader Joe's for their brand, which is also good - although I have never had their carrot. It works out to about 2.25 a box, which is one serving as far as I am concerned. That is more than I like to pay but the ingredients are high quality and I will be getting more of the roast carrot variety.
(N.b. a case of MTR Rassam curry powder is a LOT of curry powder, it's great stuff but I am under pressure to get through it.)

Well, I will do it again. My six bottles of juice were shipped super fast, packaging was very good. The juice itself is excellent. It is actually that rich in taste that I mix it half with water or apple juice. That way the already reasonable price becomes even better.
I am really glad I gave it a try. Drinking a glas of carrot juice a day works wonders on my skin.

(More customer reviews)I have in the past used a lot of Barry Farm products. In the majority of cases, I have found their dried veggies and such to be of a great flavor and quality, and an excellent substitute in most cases for the real thing. Especially when the real thing just takes too long or is not available. Some of their products are far more worth the cost then others. This carrot powder is one that is both worth your time and money and delicious as well. I have used it on camping trips for quite a few years past. Although carrots are an ingredient in most soups and stews, they also are one veggie that takes the longest to cook. Hence the introduction of Barry's carrot powder on my wilderness trips. Sprinkle a couple of heaping tablespoons or so into any campfire soup or stew, or one at home for that matter, and you will be rewarded with a much richer carrot taste than you would ever imagine from a powder. It is a very flavorful addition where a little goes a long way, and also carries a much fresher taste than you would assume as well. It dissolves and flavors almost immediately, and it is very easy to pack and tote along with all your other camping 'possibles. My only reason for taking off one star is the shipping on this powder is way too heavy in my opinion for such a light, easily packable item. But I recommend doing what I do for all Barry Farm products. Order a bunch of the powder, or any combination of Barry products all at once, and the shipping charge changes very little making it a square deal. I recommend this carrot powder as a very easy and flavorful alternative to the real deal. Enjoy...

It is not high in calories. It's great for vegetarians and vegans, of course, there are no animal ingredients. I love buying this by the case so that it's always on hand for a fast tasty and healthy snack or to have with meals as a vegetable component. Buy it, it's yummy!

(More customer reviews)I am on disability and do not get out frequently (once every 3-6 weeks) so I have been experimenting with longer shelf life foods that I can buy for a reasonable price that are delivered to my home. For years, I have been making quick microwave soups from scratch and I have found that while meats can be easily frozen, vegetables can not be bought in bulk for long term without a lot of waste. There are all sorts of veggies available at Amazon, a bunch at this vendor, that are remarkably flavorful AND economical. This clelery tastes to me just like fresh when used in my soups and for $2 you can't go wrong. Barry Farm Foods also sells dried jalapenos (excellent--kept for cooking only cause I ALWAYS have 5-6 cans on hand for table use), onions, shallots, sour cream powder, cheese powder, etc. which I have all tried and endorse. There are also dried mushrooms but I have not hit on the type that suits me as yet. The trick to these dried vegetables is to soak them before hand in boiling water, if planning to cook the entree quickly, to ensure that they get fully rehydrated. Longer cooking times don't require soaking. Beef stew made with dried vegetables, frozen peas, frozen strips of beef and some sour cream powder makes a wonderful dinner in less than 1/2 hour, with prep since anything dried will already have been chopped, diced, sliced or maybe smashed to ensure effective drying.
