(More customer reviews)If you think of this as just a spinach soup mix, you're seriously limiting yourself. But if, like my husband and me, you're starting to use more whole grains in your diet, you can spice life up a bit just by adding this or Knorr Vegetable Soup Mix, 19-Ounce Units (Pack of 2) when you cook such things as brown rice or whole wheat couscous. Try adding a package's worth of this or the vegetable soup mix plus 1 cup of water to the package directions for 1-2 cups of any of the RiceSelect Whole Grain Lover's Sampler, Rice and Couscous Variety Pack, 4-Jar Set grains -- it's delightful, essentially dinner-party quality, and so, SO easy!!! Great product.
P.S. Obviously good just for regular soup, too! :)

(More customer reviews)I've been having trouble finding this in my local grocery stores, so I ordered a case. This stuff is great - toss with veggies or potatoes and a little olive oil and roast. Delicious! Sprinkle over fish with some breadcrumbs and dot with butter or olive oil and bake. I have no idea if you can actually make soup with it, and don't care. I use it just to season foods and it's excellent.

Raineri - Unfiltered Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Review

(More customer reviews)This olive oil is supposed to be special. I don't taste anything special. To me, it tastes slightly better than normal, cheap, off the grocery store shelf olive oil. I got mine at a local Italian grocery store for the same price as what's listed here. Not worth it if you ask me.
Google Frantoio for olive oil that has a nice taste.

(More customer reviews)I wanted to have a more healthy type of mushroom on hand for cooking other than the canned variety so tried these. I let them "reconstitute" for quite a while (a couple of hours...though package says half an hour...) based on reviews of other dried mushrooms. Though they're mushroom caps, there still was a small stem portion on a few and even after all that soaking, they were still rather tough so I cut them off before cooking. They cooked well (used them in beef stroganoff and also sauteed them with butter on their own) and they tasted good. Only issue was the odor they gave off when soaking - very strong/not pleasant - but this didn't affect taste at all. Will definitely use again/keep on hand for when I can't get fresh mushrooms.

(More customer reviews)I am on disability and do not get out frequently (once every 3-6 weeks) so I have been experimenting with longer shelf life foods that I can buy for a reasonable price that are delivered to my home. For years, I have been making quick microwave soups from scratch and I have found that while meats can be easily frozen, vegetables can not be bought in bulk for long term without a lot of waste. There are all sorts of veggies available at Amazon, a bunch at this vendor, that are remarkably flavorful AND economical. This clelery tastes to me just like fresh when used in my soups and for $2 you can't go wrong. Barry Farm Foods also sells dried jalapenos (excellent--kept for cooking only cause I ALWAYS have 5-6 cans on hand for table use), onions, shallots, sour cream powder, cheese powder, etc. which I have all tried and endorse. There are also dried mushrooms but I have not hit on the type that suits me as yet. The trick to these dried vegetables is to soak them before hand in boiling water, if planning to cook the entree quickly, to ensure that they get fully rehydrated. Longer cooking times don't require soaking. Beef stew made with dried vegetables, frozen peas, frozen strips of beef and some sour cream powder makes a wonderful dinner in less than 1/2 hour, with prep since anything dried will already have been chopped, diced, sliced or maybe smashed to ensure effective drying.

Pacific Natural Foods Light Sodium Organic Soup, Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato, 32-Ounce Cartons (Pack of 12) Review

(More customer reviews)I love the taste of tangy roasted red pepper in this soup. It makes for an interesting twist on the boring old tomato soup. This variety is thick, tasty and filling. I like to accompany the soup with Glutino Cheddar Gluten Free Crackers and/or plain low fat Greek yogurt (instead of sour cream). A few points about the size and sodium content:
1) Each box contains 32 oz of liquid. One serving is 8 oz. However, for a filling meal I need double that (16 oz). Even doubled, the soup has only 220 calories and 4 gr of fat.
2) The sodium content is "lower", not "low". Each 8 oz serving contains 360 gr of sodium (or 720 gr for my doubled serving). Regular soups have typically upwards of 550 gr of sodium. Better choice for a healthy person, but not the right choice for someone on a sodium restricted diet.
This soup makes a great work lunch. The container is resealable (the cap is twist off). In fact, it is also sold in 16 oz containers. Once opened, you should store it in the fridge and consume within a week or so.

PS: The soup is certified organic and kosher dairy, for those to whom it matters.

I love having the bulk box, as whenever I need to make a quick dinner for my kids, I know that I can always use these.
