(More customer reviews)Now, you can get the Rotato which is a hand cranked operation or the Rotato Express which is an automatic gadget. I prefer the Rotato because the wiring tends to get misplaced in my gadget loving household. Here's the deal... if you (and/or your family) loves potatoes (fried, diced, mashed... you get the idea), then you really must have a terrific potato peeler. And quite frankly, there is none finer. The hand cranked variety of the Rotato will last you through thousands of potatoes; and you will look like a whiz kid. This is a great thing to give for xmas-- a sort of generic xmas present that will be loved long after this xmas is over. Also, it comes with extra blades (because they do wear out) that you can locate in its base. I bought an extra set (at a very reasonable price) because I have broken a few of the blades along the way.

(More customer reviews)I was suspicious about purchasing it since it is made in China; when I got it I was pleasantly surprise. This is a great potato masher. It is very sturdy and ergonomic. The head is actually oval unlike other mashers that are round or square and because of this design it fits into a pot much nicer. I didn't get the Rosle masher because I don't like the ring around the base of the handle. I may want to use two hands to mash because I have small hands and that idea would not work well for me. This masher is really great.

(More customer reviews)I gave the rotato two stars because it generally does a good job peeling a potato but is on the dangerous side. Yes it saves time, but if you need to take one of the blades off to be replaced because it's clogged up you could easily hurt yourself. I got cut three times. In addition I put a potato on the rotato today and the blade popped out while I was doing this and ripped part of my fingernail off. The blades don't stay sharp for very long either. If anybody buys this make sure your kids stay away from it or only use it with close parental supervision.

(More customer reviews)Not a western tasting entree by any stretch but a very good Indian vegetarian curry. Kinda hot but very tasty, especially the big chunks of mushrooms. The pouch does not contain what I would call a full meal (but says 3 servings= no womder Indians are so slim)but served over a bowl of fresh rice with a salad does the trick. The next time I make it, I'm going to add some tofu and see how that works. I'll bet it turns out great. Itsmells so good that the house carries the aroma for a long time.
I cut open the pouches and nuke it in a covered larger bowl to leave room for rice. I.d buy this again.

Alu palak (or aloo palak, meaning potato with spinach) is a very traditional Indian dish, also very often served with thali meals. Thalis meals are served on separate dinner plates to each guest with small bowls on each plate holding the various tasty choices. This Tasty Bite Aloo Palak is wonderful for adding another easy serve choice to your own 'thali' creation or as an additional item for an Indian or Asian-themed meal. Alu palak is great spooned over basmati rice or with Indian breads [or vegan whole wheat tortillas.] Can also be used as a base for a more elaborate mix of your favorite vegetables and/or beans. Tofu cubes are another delightful addition. I have also used it to make a delicious(!) spinach soup by adding Asian buckwheat noodles. Nicely spiced and not spicy by Indian standards. The spinach is a puree, partly a wonderful spinach gravy, accompanied by small diced potato cubes. A great choice for those who like or enjoy creating with spinach dishes. Made with spinach [palak], potatoes [aloo or alu], tomatoes, onions, water, sunflower oil, salt, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, sugar, chilies, turmeric, and spices. 200 calories and 6g protein per pouch.
