Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Pear Casserole Review

Just wanted to counter balance the bad review by someone who must not have done the math when they read the product description. I love my petite casseroles, I have half a dozen of them. They are perfect for baking individual entrees or desserts for people. I make baked apples or pears in mine, as well as baked peppers, roasted garlic and the like. With these you can cater to what people want in terms of types of fruit or vegetables, how much butter, what kind of sugar or spices. You just can't do that in a large dish.
They hold up to lots of washing and even being dropped without so much as a scratch or any fading. I love my petite casseroles. Just be sure you know what to expect when buying something this size...

Rotato Potato Peeler Review

Rotato Potato Peeler

Now, you can get the Rotato which is a hand cranked operation or the Rotato Express which is an automatic gadget. I prefer the Rotato because the wiring tends to get misplaced in my gadget loving household. Here's the deal... if you (and/or your family) loves potatoes (fried, diced, mashed... you get the idea), then you really must have a terrific potato peeler. And quite frankly, there is none finer. The hand cranked variety of the Rotato will last you through thousands of potatoes; and you will look like a whiz kid. This is a great thing to give for xmas-- a sort of generic xmas present that will be loved long after this xmas is over. Also, it comes with extra blades (because they do wear out) that you can locate in its base. I bought an extra set (at a very reasonable price) because I have broken a few of the blades along the way.

Kikkerland Apple, Tomato, Pear Kitchen Timers, Assorted Review

This ad offers assorted timers, however, only one comes with the purchase. It may be any of the pictured timers, but not all! I paid extra because I thought all came with it, since the same timers were being sold for half the price. I wasn't happy when I received one, furthermore, it broke soon after using it. Not worth the money unless an adult is using it at all times.

I got this so I could use it to remove the seeds and pith from jalapenos, but it's too big - and I grow really large jalapenos. However, it's very good for cleaning the seeds out of cucumbers.

Oxo Good Grips Fruit and Vegetable Corer Review

Oxo Good Grips Fruit and Vegetable Corer

I canned pears for the first time last year with a friend. She had this awesome little tool for coring the pears. It worked beautifully. Use the little side for the stem parts, and the wide fat end for beautifully taking out the seed filled core. Her tool was like this OXO Good Grips Fruit and Vegetable corer, but with a blue all wooden handle and a much stronger metal for the corer.
I ordered 6 boxes of pears from a local farm and had no desire to do the pears with out the corer I used with my friend. So I ordered this one. It worked great. However, I think the metal on this one is not near as strong as the one with the blue wooden handle. If I order more corers (for more helping hands around the canning jars) I will probably look for the blue wooden handled one.
(I think this item right here, may be the blue wooden handled one my friend had. This looks exactly the same without holding it in my hand...)Pear Corer double bladed.

This is a great product, my daughter will not eat her vegetables, but she will fly through this pouch in just a few seconds.
However, it does not make sense that the seller is selling these at $30 for just seven pouches. We buy these at target for about $1.20 per pouch. Sure with sales tax here in Chicago that turns out to be about $1.30 per pouch, but still quite a bit less than the $4+ that this merchant is charging.
In short, if you are thinking about getting this product, do so! However, do not pay this price for it.
