Pros: If you have a narrow width pantry door, this is probably for you. I searched high and low, and this is the only one that had the right dimensions while adding a considerable amount of storage space. Build quality is surprisingly good. Very strong steel with adequate gauging and quality craftsmanship.Cons: It comes with anchors that are designed to anchor into solid material or drywall. Inside doors are usually hollow, not solid. I suggest tossing those and using toggle bolts if you really want to have peace of mind that it's not going to rip out of you door.
Though it took me a little extra time to install this, is was well invested time, as it really added a lot of storage space to my cramped pantry.

I was tired of sealing and resealing the bag and reaching under my sink for the bag. Now, I keep it on my counter and just flip the lid and remove the tablets and snap it close. I have no doubt it would be great for food storage, also. Love it!

(More customer reviews)I must disagree with the previous reviewer. I have several of these in my pantry and they do the job quite well. They will take large diameter cans (such as 26 oz. tomato cans), regular size cans (i.e. vegetables) and family size cans (like the tall, 26 oz. Family size soup cans). Their biggest limitation is that they can accept ONLY those 3 can sizes because the can slots can only be created in 3 set widths. For that reason, I use not only this type of can storage, but also the "Cansolidator" also available on Amazon. The cansolidator cannot be used with the large 26 oz. tomato cans, but works beautifully for other cans, including tuna, small mushrooms, small evapo milk, as well as regular vegetable cans, etc. because the cans slot width is almost infinitely adjustable.
I love to cook so I try to maintain a fairly extensive pantry. The FIFO and Cansolidator products in combination have solved the problem of the cans that expired 5 years ago only being discovered when they've become a leaky science experiment somewhere in the back of the cupboard. With these organizers it's easy to see how much of each product you have as well as being assured that when you select a can, you're getting the oldest can.
One piece of advice about the FIFO storage: Decide which cans you want to use and pre-assemble the whole thing, then put it on your shelf. Adding additional pieces to it once it's already in place can certainly be done, but it's much more awkward than pre-assembling.

Copco 2555-1977 Can Dispenser Review

(More customer reviews)So we have a rather unusual refrigerator, every shelf slides in and out for easy access. While this may be a pleasant feature for some, we find it a bit irritating because there's a lip on the back of each shelf, which means they are not as deep as ordinary refrigerators. As such, we selected this can dispenser because its measurements fit our wonky fridge. Unfortunately, while I cannot accuse it of having inaccurate dimensions, I can share that the cans do not fit properly. In order to put them into and take them out of the dispenser, you have to pivot the cans diagonally. Plus it only holds 9 cans, which is one more than the number that would fit in the space it occupies. Hope this helps you decide before purchase!

Placing several cans on it makes the center bow down and it does NOT hold as many cans as it claims (maybe if they were all very small cans) but certainly not your standard 15 oz veggie cans. While it's nice to have some organization to my pantry, I just don't think it's worth the money spent - next time I'll spend a few more bucks for the chrome rack that is available.

I've found they work best when the items are put in as dry as possible, so dry them thoroughly and dry off the condensed moisture that accumulates periodically. Strawberries keep for 2 to 3 weeks as fresh as on the day they were bought. Grapes and cherry tomatoes also keep well for 2 to 3 weeks. Lettuce also keeps much longer, as long as you can get it dried; if it isn't dry, it still turns mushy, but it takes longer than if it were just in a plastic bag. I also use Lock & Lock in the pantry for dried fruits and for crackers.

Mamma Ro Garlic Keeper Review

(More customer reviews)A warning to other potential buyers... I liked the design of this product, but could not be more disappointed with the production quality of what I received.
Although it looks quite nice and boasts being "made in Italy", the quality of the glazing is really unacceptably poor. After opening the Amazon box, I simply, gently washed the pot for initial use in a dishpan with mildly warm water and Palmolive... As it lay in the drainer to dry, I could hear a "crackling" sound in emitting from it for a minute afterward as the glazing cracked in a fine spiderweb pattern all over its surface. Presumably either the temperature change from normal dishwater temperature to a 70 degree F room air temperature--or else the mere wetting of it for a simple hand-washing--was more than this product could withstand.
For the price this should be a little more durable than destruction upon initial hand-washing.
Again, the look might be nice, but from my experience, the construction is pure crap--please don't make the same mistake as me by being lured into buying this. What I received is really intolerable.

Cuisine Magic Rectangular Locking Glass Food Storage Containers Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered the 8 ounce glass containers for my kids lunch boxes, which came as a set of two. Unlike the previous reviewer, I detected no defects in the glass or in the snaps.
Before I placed them in my kids lunch boxes, I first tested them by placing water in them, turning them upside down and to my pleasant surprise, NO leaks.
What I wasn't happy about and why I give it only 3 stars is in the design of the lid, specifically the gasket. In washing the lid, I like to remove the gasket and clean separately. Reason being on account of the potential of bits of food/liquid to lodge between it and the plastic lid. In order to take the gasket out, requires a butter knife as the lip of the lid is only 5mm wide and too deep to get your fingers into.
After removing the gasket, I decided to try placing the lid back onto the container and guess what, it will not fit. So, if you ruin or lose the gasket-you may as well toss the lid out.
For me, this is more hassle than I think it's worth. However, I do think the glass is quality (like the glass found in Pyrex)and the lids too if you don't mind the fuss or concerned about ruining/losing the gasket. For those interested in the 8 ounce containers and curious about dimensions (approximates), they are as follows:
*Glass thickness: 5mm
*Depth: 1 3/8"
*Length: (interior): 4 5/16"
*Width (interior): 2 7/8"
*Height w/ lid on: 1 7/8"

Set up is quite easy, you just have to snap (force) the spacer pegs into the holes, then twist to secure. I had to use a wrench, as suggested in the instructions, to turn the pegs.
In the sample picture, you can see green cans on the left and right sections, and yellow in the center. The center yellow cans are separated by three shorter pegs. You can choose to put those in, or just use three of the longer pegs instead, which would give you three sections of larger (15 oz) cans. It comes with extra pegs so you can pick.
The cool thing is if your shelf is long enough, you can attach two units together - so you just keep going after you build the first three sections (as shown in the picture) and add the next three on, with a section in between, instead of 3+3=6, you get 3+3+1 (in the middle) = 7. Each unit comes with six extra pegs, three short ones for the smaller section if you want it, and three extra to attach another whole unit to the side of the first.
Each section holds 16 or more cans, I don't know, I don't have that many cans of one type. I ended up putting a [...] case (12 cans) in the top, which means they roll out the bottom, and then putting three or four other cans in the middle. The middle ones don't join the roll toward the bottom until there's about five of the bottom cans left.
The shelves are made of a strong sturdy plastic, and a smart design.
They don't hold the big soup cans (18-19 oz) just the regular 15 oz cans.

(More customer reviews)I've been looking for a storage container for my potatoes, onions and garlic for a long time, and these fit the bill perfectly! The onion one is smaller than I would have liked though and the potato bin is huge! I actually switched the two instead, I use the large bin for onions and the medium for fingerling potatoes. I pulled them out of the box and they were dirty, so as they stated they were dishwasher safe, I put them in and pressed start. Imagine my horror when I pull the bins out and notice that the vintage writing is squished, rubbed off, non existent! I now have PTTOES, Oions, Garic and some of the other words are gone as well. This could have at least been glazed on instead of a vinyl decal or instead do not put dishwasher safe on your packaging!!
I would recommend buying them, but HAND WASH ONLY! Wish I would have known that before I popped them in and wasted $89. I'm still using them, but I'm thinking about using a razor blade to take off the rest of the lettering and just having them be blank.

So upon realizing that I need fresh salads for optimal health, I decided to explore options for preserving them. After examining various 'vacuum seal' options, the Lettuce Keeper jumped out as the most logical looking solution. Vegetables, just like plants in the ground, need some air circulation, and the Lettuce Keeper system has all the aspects of vegetable preservation covered. It even has a lower tray from which water evaporates into the storage chamber, which is ventilated. Evaporation and ventilation are applied differentially to various vegetables and fruits.
My experience with the Lettuce Keeper confirms my initial impression of it. It preserves salads far longer than I've seen with any other storage medium I've used. After a week contents show no sign of spoilage or aging. I've not tried any 'vacuum seal' containers, so I can't compare this to that, but I can say this works very well! As per the initial critical review here, the instructions say to place the lid and all on a dishwasher's top rack. I couldn't be happier with this device; and thanks to it, I can be healthier too!

Debbie Meyer Green Bags Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased these bags the same day I bought some bananas, a "bunch" of 3, 9 days ago. Normally after a few days the uneaten bananas get thrown away, even though I only normally purchase a bunch of about 4 or 5. We just don't eat them fast enough. On a whim, I purchased a box, only because of my walking 7yo infomercial. Today she ate the 3rd banana, 9 days later. Granted, it was a bit softer than usual, but not a brown on it.
I had also put a red & a green bell pepper in another bag, which has been on my countertop for about 6 days. Not a wrinkle on them. We'll be cutting them up tonight, so if I have a negative comment to post, I'll be back.
Next I'm going to try strawberries, something else that normally rots away in my fridge.
So far, I don't regret my purchase and am glad that I didn't go with my thoughts of "no way, can't work".
EDIT 05/30/08: Strawberries: rotted/molded within a few days. Peppers: did prevent wrinklage, used peppers 6 days later, peppers in great shape. Tomatoes: same as peppers. Bananas: definitely prevented the browning by more than a week, but the banana was alot softer than I would expect.
If I could change my original 4 star rating, I'd bump it down to a 2.5.
To me, it's worth it just to extend the life of my bunches of bananas.
