(More customer reviews)I purchased the Chef Harvey 5 Piece Garnishing Set. It consisted of a corrugated garnishing tool, food decorator, spiral slicer, twin curl cutter and paring knife. With shipping and handling it cost $22.00. The food decorator is made out of such thin metal it feels like it will cut your hand if you give it a firm grip. The spiral slicer has a thick plastic screw tip that splits the carrots rather than cutting them in a spiral. Twin curl cutter is just as cheap to the look and feel. Not surprisingly, at the bottom of the invoice, it says "thanks for your order - non returnable". So even the company must know it's an inferior product.

I've found they work best when the items are put in as dry as possible, so dry them thoroughly and dry off the condensed moisture that accumulates periodically. Strawberries keep for 2 to 3 weeks as fresh as on the day they were bought. Grapes and cherry tomatoes also keep well for 2 to 3 weeks. Lettuce also keeps much longer, as long as you can get it dried; if it isn't dry, it still turns mushy, but it takes longer than if it were just in a plastic bag. I also use Lock & Lock in the pantry for dried fruits and for crackers.

Norpro Lemon Lime Slicer Review

(More customer reviews)It works ok, just make sure you cut the ends off the lime/lemon before you use the slicer. Takes quite a bit of pressure to cut it, the plastic kinda flexes a little but it doesn't feel like its going to break. Its what you expect for 10 bucks. Would rate 3.5/5.

(More customer reviews)I thought these were standard size cookie cutters but they turned out to be rather small. For example, each cherry is about the size of a dime. They didn't say mini and there is an overall dimension of 12x9x3 so I thought they were bigger. They don't say cookie cutter and are labeled dough cutter so I guess I should have realized there was a difference. My daughter's dolls just got some new cookie cutters!

I create snacks that are like mini-lunch*bles from the store, but healthier - instead of all the preservatives and sodium-laden stuff in those packages, I cut up nitrate-free lunch meat, soy cheese (the little one is lactose intolerant), and either cucumbers or carrots and whole grain crackers! If you find your lunch-box's content looks healthy but boring: you have to buy those!
You can cut almost anything you want, soft or hard, those cutters do the job.
I've started doing Bento for my lunches and those 6 little wonders were a must. It's great, when you've had a rough morning, to open your meal and have something pleasant to look at. I never thought Bell Peppers and Carrots could be fun to eat, but they are now!
The cutters are really sturdy and will add a nice decorative touch to all your meals. Easy to clean by hand. Not sure I would put them in the dishwasher.
Careful though: use a non-slip cutting board or your ingredients might slip and you could hurt your hands. I say : Not recommended for younger children.

Sandwich Cutters Mini Bites Translucent in Light Blue Review

(More customer reviews)For some reason, children are born hating crusts. Who knows why, who CARES?! For $5 or less you can solve this problem forever with this ingenious item. I smush the sandwhich down hard and then put the die-cutter over it and when it slices through to the bottom of the sandwhich, I twist back and forth to cleanly peel the crusts away and sweep them right into the open trash can below the counter. This item is also great for making the fancy bento box type sandwiches. I've also bought the other styles (although at the $1 store) the fluffy clouds, the rocket plane and one other one - so they can have a different crustless shape every day in their lunchbox. Over the top? YOU BETCHA! But it does save me from cleaning out a tupperware of gooey crusts every night :-)
