I was charged 10.90 for shipping and handling (almost the same price as the product itself) and then had to pay .78 C.O.D. which meant an added trip to the post office. I would not reorder through this vendor again.

Omega Juicer Model O2 Review

(More customer reviews)I did SO much research on the Internet before finding that there are 2 small juicers available, and that both get good reviews. One is this one and the other is the L'equip mini. This model is newer so it didn't have as many reviews, so I couldn't decide. I called up one of the Internet sites and asked which they suggested. They said that Omega has a great reputation and stands by their products better than the other company. If you read the reviews of the L'equip 221 you'll see that that company is horrible if you have a problem with your juicer.
I just got the juicer today. You can get free shipping, so shop around.
Pros:
QUIET (much quieter than my blender), EFFICIENT, EASY TO CLEAN, EXTREMELY WELL BUILT
Juicer is GREAT!! It comes assembled and you can rinse out the parts and try it out in like 5 minutes.
From my research I knew that dry pulp shows it's an efficient machine, and that frothy juice is a negative - from supposed oxidation. I'd call it oxygenization, since air gets into the juice from being centrifuged.
Anyway, my own pulp test was fine. My first juice batch had moist pulp but when I pushed the veggies into the chamber more lightly the pulp was surprisingly dry.
Put a plastic bag, like the kind you put your veggies in, into the pulp catcher as a liner and you'll reduce your mess by a lot. The thing disassembles quickly and easily. I use a veggie brush to clean the screen and the whole thing cleans up in like 5 minutes. The messiest thing for me was the inside of the plastic top.
There was a little froth on the top of the juice, but nothing more than you get at a juice stand, and I'm not sure I believe this is a problem anyway.
The parts are very solid. The mesh filter basket is well built and the blade is very thick and solid, especially compared to food processor blades. The bowl is also stainless.
Highly recommend. Solid build, dry pulp when you get the right technique, and Omega stands by its products.
MAY BE CON:
Not sure about the froth issue. It didn't seem very frothy to me, but if you're used to the classic Champion juicers it may be more than you've had before. I'm just an inexperienced juicer and can't really tell whether this thing makes a lot or a little. Doesn't seem like a lot to me but I have nothing to compare it to.

Zyliss Herb Snippers Review

(More customer reviews)I grew a lot of fresh herbs this year. Rosemary, thyme. parsley, dill and many others. I love the fragrance and the fresh flavors have really kicked my culinary skills up a notch. What I like about these scissors is the feature that allows me to strip the leaves off the stems. Woody plants like Oregano and thyme are easy to snip and the leaves come off easily. As far as chopping though I still use a mezzaluna. I find that easier to mince with. But the scissors have their merit too. If your into fine needle work and sewing I can see these would be fine to have around. Just right for snipping herbs from the pots and and stripping the leaves from stems, I like it.

Idea Village Always Fresh Food Containers - Green Review

(More customer reviews)The other reviewer must own the company that is selling these bunk containers which keep food less fresh than the plastic bags the grocer provides. REally...not only do they not work they do not wash well in the dishwasher, become totally mishapen and are difficult to seal. I have been using the glad and zip lock containers and they also keep food fresher than these do. These containers are difficult to store, have lids that warp and the food I eagerly stored in them rotted so fast I was angry that I bought them. Not only that I purchased these on the always fresh official site. The picture shows 10 containers with lids and promises that you will get 2 sets if ordered that day...which i did. My invoice stated 20 pieces and after 4 weeks and $9 in shipping fees I received 5 bunk containers. These people should be sued. This is the first time I have bought anything from those ads on TV..and I know now why all the ads feature a $19.95 product with excessive shipping and handling fees. This is borderline criminal marketing designed to rip off the consumer for an amount too little to fight over and too expensive or difficult to return the merchandise for a refund thus leaving the consumer to just 'eat' the crappy merchandise. I think more consumers need to raise the dickens for these types of products. Especially this one which is THE WORST.

Cuisipro Herb Keeper Review

(More customer reviews)At long last I've found a way to sustain my Cilantro habit. Every single time I go to the store, I buy at least one bunch of organic cilantro as I put it in everything. But more often than not, part of it turns black before I get to it and wrecks the whole bunch. At $1.50 per bunch, it adds up. Growing it myself did not work at all, so I've been on the look-out for a solution. And guess what? I found it. Cuisipro's Herb Keeper really works and I've yet to throw away yucky black cilantro, or any other herb, since I've started using it.
I was skeptical about this at first, mainly because it's plastic and I have a thing against plastic, plus I suspected it contained BPA since it's a hard clear plastic. However, a rep at Cuisipro assured me that it is SAN plastic and does not contain BPA. I do wish it were glass, but that is my only complaint.
I've tried all sorts of ways to prolong the life of fresh herbs, and this is the most effective I've found yet. It's clean and easy to manage. You just wash your herbs really well, pull out any browning or black stems or leaves, and place the stems in the container on the stick. You fill the bottom a with about two inches of water (I change mine at least every other day) and lower the stick down into the water. And voila! Just snip off what you need, when you need it.

Debbie Meyer Green Bags Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased these bags the same day I bought some bananas, a "bunch" of 3, 9 days ago. Normally after a few days the uneaten bananas get thrown away, even though I only normally purchase a bunch of about 4 or 5. We just don't eat them fast enough. On a whim, I purchased a box, only because of my walking 7yo infomercial. Today she ate the 3rd banana, 9 days later. Granted, it was a bit softer than usual, but not a brown on it.
I had also put a red & a green bell pepper in another bag, which has been on my countertop for about 6 days. Not a wrinkle on them. We'll be cutting them up tonight, so if I have a negative comment to post, I'll be back.
Next I'm going to try strawberries, something else that normally rots away in my fridge.
So far, I don't regret my purchase and am glad that I didn't go with my thoughts of "no way, can't work".
EDIT 05/30/08: Strawberries: rotted/molded within a few days. Peppers: did prevent wrinklage, used peppers 6 days later, peppers in great shape. Tomatoes: same as peppers. Bananas: definitely prevented the browning by more than a week, but the banana was alot softer than I would expect.
If I could change my original 4 star rating, I'd bump it down to a 2.5.
To me, it's worth it just to extend the life of my bunches of bananas.

(More customer reviews)My brother and I decided to try 2 different brands of these bags. He went with the Debbie Meyer and I tried these. (Ok, so he makes a lot more $ than I do!!!). We started on the same day with the same fruit and produce in them and kept monitoring to see which one worked best. They are still both going strong and neither he or I have experienced any spoiled fruit or veggies in almost 2 months. They work so well, we decided to share our quantities with one another just for the bag color difference. We will both purchase THIS product in the future in various sizes. No need to pay more. One clue: trick to keeping condensation from forming inside bag (which rots the food) is to place a few crumpled up paper towels in the bag with the food. Also, I don't close the bag up real tight, but rather scrunch the top together but put it loosely in the frig or on the counter. This way no moisture builds up inside the bag from the gases being released from the food and I don't have to keep wiping the 'wet' from the inside of the bag.
Edit: Nov 2, '09-it has been several months since original purchase of this product and I have finally thrown out the original few bags I used at the onset. Not because they are no longer working effectively, but they have become a bit ratty looking from all the washing, rinsing and re-use. If all the bags in this small box last this long, purchasing this product once/year with just 10 bags is a dream come true. (thinking of giving brother some more for Christmas (giggle)- he'll be set for life! ;)

(More customer reviews)These seeds are reasonably priced and germinate well. Growing them straight, they are a bit too spicy for my taste, so I mix my seeds with broccoli and alfalfa. They're excellent for many purposes including salads, sandwiches and bagel toppings. If you've only had alfalfa sprouts, you're missing the boat. Radish and broccoli sprouts (among others) at home can supply you with your own home-grown organic vegetables over the winter, saving you money and trips to the store, while having fresh tasty and healthy vegetables conveniently growing in your kitchen. For a Japanese salad treat, try radish sprouts with a dash of soy sauce or ginger salad dressing, it's a great side dish with sushi.
The seeds are organic and clean (I didn't see any pebbles or dirt in the bag), shipping was fast, and no excessive packaging was used. Just a good weight polyethylene bag with a twist tie, and a paper label.

Debbie Meyer's Green Bags Fruits & Vegetables (2Packs) Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using these bags for all kinds of fruits and vegetables. I buy in bulk to juice (and eat) and hate having to shop every few days because of perishable items not lasting very long. I am ecstatic about these bags! I have had ALL my fruits and vegetables in these bags for 10-15 days and they look just as fresh as when I bought them. I have such a wide variety of produce that it would take awhile to list them all. So, if you ask, "What about strawberries?" (or anything else), I probably have it stored in Debbie Meyer Green Bags.
Maybe I am doing something right that the negative reviewers did not do (if they are true customers and not bad-mouthing competitors). I look carefully to make sure the items do not have ANY mold or over-ripening when I bring them home from the store. If there is any, I cut it out or, if necessary, wash them. I try not to have to wash them but, if I do, I am careful to DRY them as well. It is stated clearly on the box that items should be DRY before placing in the bags.
The other thing I do is twist close the top of the bag and fold it under when I put it in the refrigator. I don't use tie-wraps or rubber bands or anything else to close them. I also use only one bag for each type of produce. Basically, I followed the instructions.
No condensation, no moisture, no mold, no overripening. Just fresh produce for so much longer than I expected. Thank you Debbie Meyer and Housewares America, Inc.
