(More customer reviews)I had recently purchased a pot full of various lettuce types and had hoped to grow a similar one of my own with this lettuce mix. I planted them, but nothing came up. It could have been the heat of the deck, but we water every day and the Mediterranean cucumbers came up great. Usually lettuce is easy to grow, but I guess that this type is a little more difficult or needs specific growing conditions.

Always sow lettuce in cool weather. If you are wondering why it's called Valentine Mix it is because all of the varieties are red or at least partly red. This packet contains Lolla Rossa, Marveille de Quatre Saisons, Redina, Red Oakleaf, Red Salad Bowl, Rouge d'Hilver and Rueben's Red.

So upon realizing that I need fresh salads for optimal health, I decided to explore options for preserving them. After examining various 'vacuum seal' options, the Lettuce Keeper jumped out as the most logical looking solution. Vegetables, just like plants in the ground, need some air circulation, and the Lettuce Keeper system has all the aspects of vegetable preservation covered. It even has a lower tray from which water evaporates into the storage chamber, which is ventilated. Evaporation and ventilation are applied differentially to various vegetables and fruits.
My experience with the Lettuce Keeper confirms my initial impression of it. It preserves salads far longer than I've seen with any other storage medium I've used. After a week contents show no sign of spoilage or aging. I've not tried any 'vacuum seal' containers, so I can't compare this to that, but I can say this works very well! As per the initial critical review here, the instructions say to place the lid and all on a dishwasher's top rack. I couldn't be happier with this device; and thanks to it, I can be healthier too!

In Progressive International's lettuce keeper, fruit, lettuce, and vegetables stay fresher longer for up to approximately two weeks. (More customer reviews)... IF this were not at a reduced price and was eligible for free shipping, I wouldn't have even tried it. I liked that it didn't have MSG and didn't use pork as seasoning. My family is adding more vegetables to our diet as we are "eating better to live better". There was an unnatural sweet taste such that I was expecting to find Sweet Potatoes somewhere, a very unsettling feeling for me. Didn't know if this batch was inadvertantly prepared with their Sweet Potatoe product. We don't like products with hidden sugar.* (*As the commenter noted sugar IS listed in the ingredients. I should have said "unexpected sweet taste". Truthfully I was expecting similar seasoning as in Sylvia's Collard greens.)
I've never been to Sylvia's Restaurants so I don't really know if this is how it's supposed to taste. I won't order this again.

Cyless did NOT like them at first, but after a few more times he warmed up to them. he is 7 months and eats them like any other food now. just have to try it a couple times before giving up. the thickness is good. i idnt have to add water but for younger babies i would. like i said he is 7 months nad i have been spoon feeding since 4 months so he is used to a thicker consistancy but i recommened these products they now sell them at walmart which is nice. also try them warm instead of cold they might take quicker.

(More customer reviews)My son doesn't like peas. I've tried feeding him the Gerber Organic peas and he dodges the spoon. So since all of sprouts food is good, I thought - hey, I'm sure Tyler Florence's peas are better than Gerber. Boy was I wrong! It started when I first opened the bag - it smells absolutely horrible and the color is a yucky brownish green. So I warmed it up and sampled it before giving to my son. OMG, I almost had to wipe it off of my tounge. It is really really bad, and that is about the kindest thing I can say about this pea/greenbean/mint mix. I tried to give it to my son and his reaction was as bad as mine. I just coulnd't force feed him somethign I couldn't stomach myself. So far all other Sprout flavors are 5 stars, but leave this one on the shelf - - - it is BAD!
