(More customer reviews)Ok gang, maybe someone can help me with this one. After seeing the steamer at a friends, I ordered one as soon as I could.
Wonderfully steamed vegetables, no funky tastes, YET! I have yet to be able to remove the steamer without the contents spilling back into the pot, or on the counter. After numerous tries.
When I try to remove the steamer using the two loops, it creates a roll effect that wedges itself into any pot I own, and eventually while tugging, one end slips out, and the contents roll out the other end.
I guess I have to use a stock pot to be able to steam a few sprigs of broccoli. Color me confused...

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a present for my dad, then liked the looks of it so much I got one for myself. VERY good quality. The bottom part adjusts to different heights (depending on the depth of your pan). The lid can be used as a base when draining vegetables, but I find that I most often use it to replace the lid of whatever pan I'm using to steam. I'm not sure this is objectively true, but it seems to me that the lid 'seals in' the steaming process. In fact, it seems to me that veggies steam quicker using this lid than the lid of a pot. All in all it has worked most excellently for me. My only wish is that Trudeau also made a larger version of this for steaming bigger things...crab legs, for example. This is definitely a good buy ... I sure don't have any regrets.

(More customer reviews)I have been wanting a steamer for awhile. I originally purchased one of the metal ones that expands, but the one I got was not the best quality and parts were loose so it was returned. I considered a rice maker with steam, a bamboo steamer, or a microwave steamer, but found this silicone one and decided to give it a try. It works very well, and is easy to clean. It is also substantial silicone, and not flimsy and thin like other silicone options. The best part is that you can partically collapse the bottom for shallower pans. The one issue I have found is that the lid does not fit as perfectly as I would like, and I have to invert the lid by pushing the handle down in the center to get a good seal. I returned the first because I thought it was defective, but the replacement had the same issue. Still, I recommend this and feel it is a good purchase.

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a gift but I have one of my own. I use this almost every day. It's so nice to be able to steam my veggies in the microwave. I just fill a bowl with a little water, put the steamer on top, fill with veggies, shake some molly mc butter on top and 5 minutes in the microwave and it's done!
No more excuses for not eating your veggies!

(More customer reviews)I have been searching for a mix for vegetarian gravy with a beef type flavor. This is the best I have found. The mock chicken version by Hain is not to my liking so if you have tried that one don't let it prevent you from enjoying the brown gravy mix. Whole Foods used to carry in bulk mix for chicken broth/gravy that was very good but seems to have discontinued it. The only vegetarian gravy better than this brown gravy mix comes with a tofurkey that is mushroom gravy that is prepared and frozen. This is simple and handy and relatively inexpensive and as tasty as any meat based gravy mix.

(More customer reviews)i've been stuck in the hospital a lot this year and it's meant a lot of the clear liquid diet. This broth is what's getting me through. It's tasty all on its own. When i'm at home and I have to drink clear liquids, the other veggie broths don't have such a rich flavor and suddenly I feel deprived and miserable. So, I decided to get crazy and just spend the $50 on a truly delicious broth so I no longer have to suffer through cup after cup of blandness when i'm ill. I also plan to try it as a base for my potato leek soup and I bet it's hands down the best batch I've ever made. And it comes, already perfectly seasoned, in packet. So awesome.
p.s. It is on the salty side but I am generally not a salt lover and this is a good saltiness. I almost never salt anything. So if you hear it's salty...take it with a grain of salt. Yeah, I said it. (I'm in the hospital ordering tons of broth packets and writing lengthy reviews of my love for it, I needed that joke. Aah how I laughed.)
p.p.s. I think it's a little better if you add about 1.3 of the recommended amout per cup of water.
