(More customer reviews)I searched everywhere for a Gluten Free boullion and this is it. It also tastes better than other brands I've had and rivals Better Than Boullion brand. Prefer it for long term storage as well. I use 2 cubes (sometimes crumbled and sprinkled on top of, or mixed into meat) with 1/4c dehydrated onion in place of Lipton Onion Soup Mix in all my usual recipes.
I wish Amazon would emphasize that it is Gluten Free (it says it right on the jar but you cannot always read it in the picture) it would have made my search easier.

(More customer reviews)Ordered my third jar yesterday. This is so delicious! I use it as a minestrone base, a substitute for the ramen MSG laden soup packets, add it to my gravies and chile verde. I'd use it sparingly until you figure out what works for you. For myself, about two teaspoons per three cups of water seems to work.

(More customer reviews)I really was shocked to see directions using 1/2 gallon of milk, and 1 1/2 gallons of water. Another instance of not enough information to help me know what I was buying. I thought there would be quantities for family use. At least the can will store what is not used. Let's see if I use 2 cups of milk and 6 cups of water how much of the mix do I use? Then there is a recipe on the can for tomato bisque soup that adds heavy cream to figure out... It is a good thing I like math.

(More customer reviews)These bouillon cubes are a must-have for winter and the soups and stews that go with it. They're so quick and convenient! They're also really delicious, and not too salty. I will throw in a half cube when I make polenta (to replace the salt but add flavor), and I typically use one cube to every 2-4 cups of water, depending on the other spices and herbs in the soup. They don't dissolve quite as quickly as I would like, but I just typically throw the cube into the stockpot when I add my water, and it dissolves as the soup cooks. It's delish!

(More customer reviews)I recently ordered Edward & Sons Not-Beef Bouilon Cubes and confess that the flavor frightens me. The taste is so close to actual beef bouilon that I have had to re-read the ingredients just about every time that I have used it. Additionally, Edward & Son uses palm oil. Palm oil has the same texture as beef fat and can be scraped off the top just one would scrape fat off of broth.
The flavor is excellent for making seitan. I have used it for the simmering broth as well as put 1/2 a cube into the actual seitan mix. Very tasty.

I use Vegeta when making soups, stews, Chicken or Veal Marsala or Piccata. Vegeta can be used to season rice or pasta. Since it is made from vegetables, I have used it to enrich the flavor of vegetarian Thanksgiving 'stuffing'. Vegeta can also be used to enhance sauces and gravies. I grew up and used them in a number of recipes, ect. I moved to Arizona and couldnt find them anymore and was Bummed.
I now live in California and have found them again but under the Hormel name. I have to say the Old cube recipe in a neet tube with 6 cubes were much better back then than they are now under Hormel, but still better than Wylers.

(More customer reviews)I often need a stock in things I cook at home, so usually that's homemade chicken broth. Lately, however, I've been cooking more and more vegetarian and / or vegan meals. Of the many varieties of vegetarian bouillon I've tried, none come close to the depth of flavor provided by Morga Bouillon cubes, and I never feel like I've compromised flavor in order to make a meal vegetarian. A real life-saver in a busy kitchen. There are two versions of this product; I always use the `no salt added' one since I like to control the amount of salt.
Ingredient List: Palm Oil, Yeast Extract, Maltodextrin, Celery, Parsley, Leek, Onion, Caramelized Sugar, Turmeric.
Pros: excellent depth of flavor, good shelf-life (seems to last just about forever), convenient
Cons: not as miscible as I'd like, but in the end it all seems to blend in evenly; relatively expensive

(More customer reviews)Edward & Sons Low Sodium Veggie Bouillon is one of the best that I have tried. There are actual tiny bits of veggies in the cubes--obviously not enough to prevent you from adding your own. When I cook rice, I love to toss either one or two of these cubes into the rice cooker.
One correction to the Nutrional Information posted on the product page: The actual sodium content is 135 mg and not 920 as indicated on the product page. This is a huge difference.

(More customer reviews)I have been buying this products for almost 10 years now, buying it from a business in London - so you can imagine the shipping (yikes!). I had to re-order recently and found that the shipping would be more than the price of the product ... and fortunately checked good ole Amazon.com before giving up and spending a horrendous bundle. I give this as stocking stuffers and at social club gift exchanges at the holidays to rave reviews. I use Marigold instead of salt in so very many dishes and add it to soups and sauces that need a "bottom note" without adding salt. Take a thermos of this to work and have yourself a very lo-cal mid-morning belly-filler without ruining your lunch. I cannot, cannot say enough about this product - the red can (organic/vegan) version is just fabulous. Thank you, Amazon, for offering this product!

(More customer reviews)On the product label you will see "autolyzed yeast extract" which is another name for MSG. When yeast is autolyzed, protein is broken-down during that processing and glutamic acid is freed (processed free glutamic acid is none other than MSG). According to truthinlabeling.org, "There are over forty food ingredients besides 'monosodium glutamate' that contain processed free glutamic acid. Each, according to the FDA, must be called by its own unique, 'common or usual' name." Thus, food manufacturers can state 'no added MSG' for their product yet the product may still contain MSG disguised by another name, such as 'autolyzed yeast extract', 'hydrolyzed protein', 'calcium caseinate', etc. You get the point. MSG and its various pseudonyms are everywhere and in everything (including body care products, infant formula, etc.) so read, read, read labels please and become informed.
