This peeler removes the skins of vegetables and fruits very quickly and easily. The handle is extremely comfortable and the manufacturer's description is accurate--wet hands don't slip from the handle. This one is a keeper!

Electric Food Mill Review

(More customer reviews)This does a great job of converting small to medium quantities of food into a consistency that is perfect for our 6 month old daughter. We had used the hand crank thing but that was a pain. This is also preferable to a blender because when preparing smaller quantities as the results are more uniform and there is less lost to the equipment.
My only reservation was the comment about the lack of an on/off switch. I was about to run to the hardware store (quick as a bunny) and buy one to add to the line cord. However my wife, no stranger to a kitchen, pointed out that this food mill works just like... a food mill. It only goes on when you place the motor housing on top of the container *and* press down. That is the on/off switch. Adding something else would only make the thing more difficult to operate than it needs to be. In fact, we leave the motor housing plugged in all the time. When it's our daughter's dinner time we fill the container with stuff, set the housing on top of the container, and press down. A few seconds later we have a nourishing and freshly made meal for her. (We usually make a little extra and add it to our dog's food because she likes it too.)
As we go through our parenting journey we are learning there are certain essentials and this, ioho, is one of them.

Nuby 2-Pack Nibbler Review

(More customer reviews)My daughter got this from my mother and at first she wanted nothing to do with it, screamed every time it got near her mouth so my husband & I figured she didn't like it and put it away. Fast forward about 2 weeks and we were desperate one night while fixing dinner so I pulled it out and tried it again, she was more accepting of it this time and once she figured out food came out of it she loved it. The best things I've found with it (so far) is strawberries w/ seeds cut off & bread/ bagel pieces to suck/ chew on without fear of choking. One cavaet: DO NOT use with bananas it is a pain to clean off, I eventually had to watch the mesh twice then soak it in very diluted bleach and finally wash it again to get it clean.
I like the construction of the Nuby better then either Munchkin or Sassy feeders. In my opinion the mesh is finer but yet easier to ger something out of, it's easier to clean & the twist/ turn method is better then then the 'snap' close of the others. It's great for them on chew & suck on to get new flavors but I wouldn't use it for true teething purposes, the mesh can irritate already sore gums (which may have been our problem at first) and it can wear down over time so you'll have to replace it quicker.

I think the directions need to be more detailed, and come with more specific water amounts to add for the fruits/veggies. The blade is very sharp and works well, I am pleased with the overall performance of the product. I have sucessfully made several meals with the machine. Compared to the significant price break vs. the competitor version of this (which my friend has) I feel I can do all the things with my machine and feel like I got a good value. I am enjoying this product.

(More customer reviews)I've gotten these for around a dollar per 2-pack at my grocery store, so the price here isn't that great (though the convenience of them showing at the door might make it worthwhile). But skip for the price, not for the BPA. There is no BPA in them. See their website:

I know the BPA stuff is scary, but you have to be careful before you put reviews up on websites that scare new mothers for no reason, especially since many mothers use this and don't need the guilt of thinking they've been unknowingly harming their children. I used these packs with my older child and now with my baby, and they are very convenient for diaper-bag use - no breakage! I skip them for home use since they don't recycle, and our grocery store has a good/cheap organic line packed in glass.

However, it does not make sense that the seller is selling these at $30 for just seven pouches. We buy these at target for about $1.20 per pouch. Sure with sales tax here in Chicago that turns out to be about $1.30 per pouch, but still quite a bit less than the $4+ that this merchant is charging.
In short, if you are thinking about getting this product, do so! However, do not pay this price for it.

Melamine is a metabolite of cyromazine, a PESTICIDE. It is formed in the body of mammals who have ingested cyromazine. It was also reported that cyromazine is converted to melamine in plants.
Today most industrial manufacturers use ammonia and UREA (yes, both are found in URINE!) in the following reaction to produce melamine:

6 (NH2)2CO ' C3H6N6 + 6 NH3 + 3 CO2It can be understood as two steps. First, UREA decomposes into cyanic acid in an endothermic reaction (NH2)2CO ' HCNO + NH3. Then cyanic acid polymerizes to form melamine and carbon dioxide: 6 HCNO ' C3H6N6 + 3 CO2. The second reaction is exothermic and the overall process is endothermic.
Ingestion of melamine may lead to reproductive damage, or bladder or kidney stones, which can lead to bladder cancer.On 30 March 2007, the US Food and Drug Administration reported finding white granular melamine in the pet food, in samples of white granular wheat gluten imported from a single source in China, Xuzhou Anying Biologic Technology as well as in crystalline form in the kidneys and in urine of affected animals. The practice of adding "melamine scrap" to animal feed is reported to be widespread in China in order to give the appearance of increased protein content in animal feed.
Melamine production in China is reported to be in "serious surplus".
IN CONCLUSION: Because melamine resin is often used in food packaging and TABLEWARE, melamine at ppm level (1 part per million) in food and beverage has been reported due to MIGRATION from melamine-containing resins.[62] Small amounts of melamine have also been reported in foodstuff as a metabolite product of cyromazine, an insecticide used on animals and crops.[63] Romer Labs now offers a rapid Melamine test kit (AgraQuant Melamine ELISA test kit).
My ADVICE TO SELLER, drop melamine products! (and good conscience would dictate you campaign for public awareness of melamine toxicity, as well as commercial regulations to prevent it's further use...) You do score some points, however, for truth in advertising. ;-) Thanks for that. Perhaps, you should buy stock in Romer Labs, which makes the melamine test kits.

This product was sold in boxes like any other cereal with the same ammount (14oz) but priced $3.00. Now we depend of 3rd party sellers like amazon to buy it at a high cost because Nestle only produce it in Europe (Spain to be more specific). I contacted Nestle to let them know that they are losing money on this, but they responded it was a business strategy, unfortunately for us...
I am buying it because it is my preferred cereal since I was a kid.

(More customer reviews)Even I think that this baby food tastes good. My 9 month old agrees. I love that the ingredients are literally sweet potatoes, pumpkin, apples, and blueberries. The only ingredient not in the title is lemon juice. No crazy preservatives or other ingredients. The problem is the company that is selling them on Amazon. Don't take it out on Ella's. You can find it MUCH more reasonably priced on diapers.com, or at Target. I agree w/ another reviewer that the Plum organics baby food is also good, and a little cheaper, but this is still a staple in our son's diet.

(More customer reviews)I found these wondering the isle of Target one day. I'd decided to try baby food again because all of a sudden she stopped eating fruits and veggies. Won't touch them if she recognizes them. I don't know if a carrot or a pea chased her in one of her dreams, but it's been a nightmare trying to force her to eat them. So for a time I just gave up and then she gained weight...oh no. So went to find some baby apple sauce and stumbled upon these. Best. Discovery. Ever.
I take 2 with me when we're out, and give them to her when we're in the car or in between plays on the playground. The best part of these is that I can 'inject' these into her when we're rushed. She's loved all of the flavors except for the Sweet Potatoes, and gets a kick out of eating them herself.
After calculating what it would cost for me to make such concoctions (cheap but time consuming) and taking into consideration the method of delivery (the spouted pouch, which is about 50% of this product's wow factor) that I can not imitate, Amazon is the very best place to buy these yummy pouches. Amazon's price makes my daughter consuming 2-3 of these a day affordable.
