(More customer reviews)I received my Bonzai Chopper on Thursday, June 7, 2007 and used it for the first time on Friday, June 8, 2007.

My task was to chop one onion. I peeled the onion and halved it. With each half, it took nearly five or six hefty strokes to get through a rather small onion.

As for cleanup, there are too many cavities for the food to get lodged in. I have cleaned it several times by hand and once in the dishwasher (on the top rack, as instructed). Still, there are pieces and odors of onion in the chopper.

In addition, the blade I used to chop the onion was placed in the dishwasher for cleaning as well. After just one washing, the chopper blade shows visible rust.
I returned it for credit.

Progressive International Tower Slicer Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this slicer specifically because all the other that are similar in function only dice or make sticks. I wanted one that would do slices, because mandolines are a pain and often dangerous. This one works great, but the blades are at least 1/4" apart, which is actually pretty thick. You won't be making chips with this one! I wish there were other styles of blade offered.

(More customer reviews)Bought this. First time out of box, couldn't even cut an onion. I had the correct holding plate and blade installed correct side up. Quartered a normal yellow onion, and the machine crushed it instead of cutting it. I could get it to work with the larger grate if I literally put all my body weight on top of it. Piece of junk. I will be returning it.

(More customer reviews)We bought this slicer last year at a specialty kitchen store. It does exactly what it needs to, and is pretty easy to clean up. However, the construction wore out after about six months worth of use. The blades actually popped out of the assembly while chopping a particularly hard piece of produce. All in all I wouldn't recommend it for anything harder than an onion or potato.
