(More customer reviews)My daughter loved this soup, but I was disappointed to discover that Earth's Best uses a resin liner on their canned foods that contains BPA - a toxic chemical for children. While the company says the levels are low and within acceptale government standards, BPA is known to leech even more into acidic products like diced tomatoes, or tomato soup. So, until Earth's Best moves to glass jars, we'll have to refrain from eating this yummy soup.

My favorite brand of baby food by far. Both my son (who is now over 2 years old) and my daughter (now almost one) have used a wide variety of foods from Earth's Best. I am a huge proponent of feeding children primarily organic and/or locally grown foods to promote proper nutrition and growth. But I do not feel that all organic brands are equal. I've tried many varieties (including store brands and others only available through internet purchase) and found that Earth's Best is by far the best for your money.
Antioxidant Variety Pack
We've loved this variety so far. I never noticed it when my son was eating baby food, but now my daughter has one at least once a day. They tend to be a veggie heavy variety and my daughter would rather have veggies than fruit most days. The only one in the variety she can't eat so far is the Banana Mango, because of an allergy to mangos, but I'm hoping to save those for a later date when she can tolerate it better.
The only thing I didn't like about this product was that when I initially was deciding to purchase it I couldn't find out what varieties were included in the pack. So for your information they are: Carrot Tomato, Sweet Potato Apricot, Apple Butternut Squash, and Banana Mango.

(More customer reviews)I am very disappointed that Gerber has added DHA to their green beans. My son used to Love his Gerber Organic Green Beans. I (unwittingly) tried feeding him the new formulation with added DHA and he kept refusing it. I did notice that the consistency was different than usual - it had more of a gel like texture to it. And then I read the ingredients and saw that it had added Tuna Oil. !? Today I learned that another of his favorites, Gerber Organic Carrots, now has DHA added to it too. I'm so frustrated! Looks like I'll be making our own baby food now.

(More customer reviews)My twin 10-month old babies treat this one as dessert. Their first Earth's Best jar they loved was straight sweet potatoes. After water, sweet potatoes are the first ingredient in this one, followed by apricot puree. That's dessert for them right there. After that comes the chicken and then brown rice flour (not as good as brown rice though).
This is a meal that babies around the age of mine are probably almost all going to love instantly. Almost all babies love sweet potatoes for starters. Add apricot puree and there's really not much one could do to discourage babies after that. I recommend this flavor brand.
Ingredients per label: Water, organic sweet potatoes, organic apricot puree, mechanically separated organic chicken, organic brown rice flour.
The rice flour absorbed the water and gave it a real nice consistency, and the sweet potatoes gave it a nice color.
Nutrition per label: 80 calories, 15% protein, 90% vitamin A, 2% vitamin C, 2% calcium and 6% iron.
This one had the most vitamin A of all Earth's Best jars I've tried. I've been informed that the percentage of daily needs met is based on an adult.

They are all good but she likes these the best and honestly, I am so surprised by the review above that says they are bad that I'm wondering if the reviewer got a bad batch? These are organic sweet potatoes prepared for a baby so of course they are not oversalted or topped with marshmallows or otherwise destroyed but they do taste just like an oven baked sweet potatoe without any toppings.

(More customer reviews)My baby loves that Earth's Best Carrots. And everything else by them. Their food is of exceptional quality. I know--because before it goes in my baby's mouth, I try it first. I hate peas, but the E.B. First Peas are absolutely sensational. These carrots cannot be beat. I have compared Earth's Best baby food to Gerbers and Gerbers Organic, and there is simply no comarison. The Gerbers food--especially the green vegetables--are simply bland and a bit bitter. I cannot tell you how wonderful (or maybe I'm trying to now!) the E.B. 1st stage baby foods are. So good, in fact, that I've already stocked up on the variety packs of 2nd stage foods (also conveniently available on Amazon.com for a great price plus the free shipping). If you love your baby--and I know you do--and you want him to know just how delicious fruits and vegetables can be, BUY THIS STUFF.

(More customer reviews)We had already established that our baby 7-month old twins love the sweet potato jars. It turns out that they love it with cinnamon. I think it's great that Earth's Best keeps adding flavors to their baby food and I'll keep experimenting with each one.
Cinnamon has traditionally been used to treat toothache, among several other things, and I'm hoping it will help the babies with teething.
Ingredients per label: Organic Sweet Potatoes, Water, Organic Cinnamon.
This has 70 calories, 5% protein, 200% vitamin A, 30% vitamin C, 4% calcium and 4% iron. (I didn't know sweet potatoes had so much vitamin A.) I'm informed that the daily intake percentage is based on an adult.

(More customer reviews)I thought I was doing my kid a favor when I invested in a case of Earth's Best dinners. Unfortunately, the second ingredient (after water) for all of these is....applesauce. Or in the case of the "Sweet Potato & Chicken" variety, it's sweet potatoes, followed by apricot puree.
After getting used to the sweetness of these (try 'em - they're like jam), it's difficult for kids to adjust to "real" food. From now on, I'm going to stick with just pureeing home-cooked food. It's a lot cheaper, too.

(More customer reviews)In the vegetable category, sweet potato is the favorite of our now 10-month old twins. And it is absolutely loaded with vitamin A. I'm a believer in getting this one in the 4 oz. jars unless the price is superior for the 2.5 oz. jars.
I've asked many parents of babies around the same age as ours which foods their babies like. Each time they've said their babies like sweet potatoes, so I think this is a very good flavor choice.
I've ordered and received many 12-jar packages of various varieties of Earth Best baby food, and find them very satisfactory.
The packaging is quite excellent. Once I had one jar that had been broken, but only one in all this time and with all my orders. I have twins, so I order quite a lot.

(More customer reviews)This one is loaded with spinach, and that's what I wanted for my twin 10-month olds. It is not as dense as I expected or wanted evidently because they added enough water to make it more liquidly. Nevertheless, Earth's Best made it sufficiently tasty by adding carrots. That seems to be their technique to make what would otherwise not be popular with babies tasty enough. It already has brown rice so I don't think there's a strong incentive to add rice cereal to it, although one certainly could.
Of all the Earth's Best flavor brands, I believe this is the darkest natural green one. I have this by subscription and am glad for it. My babies like it. They are 10-months old; they might not have liked it some months ago.
Ingredients per the label: Water, organic spinach, organic potatoes, organic carrots, organic barley flour, organic brown rice.
This has 50 calories, 10% protein, 50% vitamin A, 15% vitamin C, 2% calcium and 4% iron. I've been informed that the percentage of daily needs met is based on an adult.
