(More customer reviews)I've tried numerous types of curries from all sorts of different stores - Indian grocers, fancy overpriced grocery stores, spice stores, heck, even Walmart. But of all the different types of curry spice mix I've used over the years to make my vegetable curry, the S&B brand is the best.
Before I moved, I would drive an hour into downtown Pittsburgh to this grungy Asian food store to buy ten of these boxes at a time. However, since I left the area I haven't been able to find any store which sells S&B, so I'm particularly thrilled to see that Amazon has it available.
I know it's weird to get this excited over a spice, but I absolutely LOVE vegetable curry and I make it all the time, so I'm very happy I have a new source to purchase my favorite spice from.
Of course, I should mention that this is a JAPANESE curry blend, not Indian, so if you're looking for more traditional flavored curry, I'm not sure if my review would help. But personally, I think that this spice blend tastes the best. Use your own judgement.

(More customer reviews)I really like this product for it's simplicity. Essentially a single serving of pre-made curry in less than 5 minutes - what's not to like? You toss the packet in a pot of boiling water for five minutes, cut it open, pour over rice and you have a meal. It's also possible to microwave this curry, but it's easier if you just boil the packet instead. The flavor is good and carrots & potatoes are already included (also they are not mushy or overcooked) so all you need is some cooked rice and if you choose a little cooked beef, lamb or chicken and you have an entire meal with almost no trouble at all.
My ONLY complaint and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the medium hot should really be called mild. There is no heat at all to this curry - if you want heat, bring your own and add it. This company (brand) makes the same product in a black box that is called "hot" and while I don't consider it truly hot by an stretch, it does have some heat and thus a little more depth of flavor. I much prefer that version to this one in the green box. However, in a pinch, craving a single serving of curry and being too lazy to do all the work of cutting/cooking fresh veggies etc either of these versions will totally work. ESPECIALLY if you live in a place with zero Indian restaurants and no Indian food options in the local grocery stores.

But thanks to amazon.com I can always get it. Great flavor all you do is heat it up in boiling water. To experience it the way they do in Japan pour over cooked rice.

Just stick the aluminum pouch into boiling water to heat up for about 3 minutes.
Pour it on a hot bowl of rice and you're ready to go.
If you want some meat to go with it, fry up some chicken, beef or pork and add it on.
My wife does most of the cooking, but sometimes she tells me to cook..... usually I would say that's a bad idea... but this does not require much "cooking".
$25 for 10 meals. Got some veggies so you can say it's healthy enough.
Plus, my appetite is pretty satisfied after I eat this and I am a 180lb guy.
I'd say you're getting your bang for your buck.
