(More customer reviews)I live in a small apartment with no deck, no patio, no backyard. I got a packet of these seeds as an experiment, to see if i could grow a small tomato plant in one of my sunny west-facing windows.
I planted a single seed in a single peat pellet. Within about 5 days it germinated, and it has grown rapidly ever since. It's thriving in the hot summer weather, and has already put out two flowers even in a 10-inch pot.
Update:
My tomato plant has reached to about 3' tall. It grew two lovely, reasonably large, delicious tomatoes. After i cut those down and ate them, it sprouted a new round of flowers, and now has two more tomatoes growing. It looks like, in a 10" pot, this plant can support two tomatoes at a time. In a bigger pot, i'm sure it would grow more (both times it flowered, there were over a dozen buds).

CorningWare French White 15-Ounce Grab-It Dish with Cover Review

(More customer reviews)OVERALL: This product is a solid workhorse. I have six, and they are favorites for convenient storage of leftovers. They stack and are durable. Unlike plastic, the stoneware cleans completely and does not transfer odors. The size is right for 2 normal servings (~1 cup) or one super-sized serving (15 oz.) which can be frozen or reheated in the same container.
If this CorningWare's Grab-It dish still came with the original version's glass lid, it would definitely rate five stars. The current version, however--despite Amazon's product description, which mentions glass AND plastic lids--now comes with a single (opaque) plastic lid. Handy enough, but not as durable as the glass lid or as convenient.
FOR WORK: No one would expect a spillproof seal from the glass lid. I wouldn't count on it with this plastic lid, either. If you are taking something to eat at work that contains even a small amount of liquid, consider leaving this lid at home, and covering the Grab-It with Press N Seal or a similar film--you can poke a few holes in it to vent when reheating it. If you want to use the Grab-It cover, pretest it by filling with water and holdng it at an angle. The manufacturing tolerance for the lid vary. Yours may or may not leak.
AT HOME: For storage of leftovers at home, the glass lids were superior: You could see the contents. For this version, you may want to mark the date on the side using a whiteboard marker to avoid those ghastly green surprises when you clean out the refrigerator. You can also simply use a plastic film, but then you can't stack it.

(More customer reviews)I originally purchased these on a very cynical whim. My mom had tried the "bags" which failed miserably so when I ran across this set I really had very low hopes. Well, here are my results:
So far I've had the same blueberries in one of these containers for THREE WEEKS. I purchased and washed them on July 19th, the day before a dinner party, put them in a Produce Saver bowl and put them in the refrigerator. Some were eaten at the party, many weren't. Today is August 10th and I guess I'm going to have to break down and make muffins with them or something because they're as fresh and plump today as they were 3 weeks ago.
Grapes stay so fresh in the large container (I buy 2 big bags at a time now) that after a week even their stems are still green. The grapes themselves are crisp and cold.
My strawberries lasted for a week the last time before they were finally all eaten. Not sure how long they would hold up as they are pretty popular. I just wash them, drain them, de-stem them and pull out all of the already questionable berries, put them in a medium container (holds about 2 lbs of berries without stems), stuff them in the fridge and walk away. We are just able to reach in and snack on fresh berries whenever we want.
And a big one -- tomatoes. Already sliced or diced tomatoes are nas-tay after they've been refrigerated overnight. I have stored diced tomatoes in the small bowl for a week and a half and they were just as tasty as the day I diced them. Not at all soggy and grainy.
Currently I have one of these sets and an extra medium bowl. It's on my shopping list to get another set ;-) They've already saved me a fortune in fresh produce and I've only had them for about a month! My next experiment will be with bananas.... If my large bowl is ever empty long enough.
