(More customer reviews)I bought two bottles of Safer 3 in 1 to put in my garden to get rid of cucumber beetles, mostly, and a few other assorted pests. Last night, I used over one bottle with only one application. I soaked the whole plant, just like it told me to do. I followed every instruction. First of all, the bottle stopped working when it was 2/3 empty, making it impossible to spray. That was annoying, but not a reason I wouldn't buy it again. However, today I went out to my garden, and the cucumber beetles are everywhere! Clearly, it had no effect whatsoever. I still see lots of crickets, as well, which it was supposed to kill.
So not only is this product pricey (I paid $8 for a bottle, not including shipping, and you're supposed to apply it once a week), but it doesn't work at all! I hope I can find something organic that actually does work!

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product to keep pests off our vegetables. This is the first summer we have had a garden at our new home and our vegetables have been mostly untouched. Maybe we don't really have a pest problem, but if we do, this organic spray has prevented nearly any damage to our plants as a result of insects, etc. The concentrated spray will last us for several years--you need only a tablespoon per quart of water. We typically use about 2 tablespoons worth every 2-3 weeks on a garden that is 30' x 60'. Great to have a product that is safe, convenient and effective to use.

Pyrethrin Spray Concentrate, 1 Pt Review

We live in an apartment complex and bugs, especially roaches has always been a problem. We hate using raid around pets and especially in the kitchen so I decided to look into this.
Pros: It works. Doesn't kill within 5 seconds like raid does, but it does kill within about 45 seconds with direct spraying. It's natural/biodegradable so I don't really expect it to work quite as fast, but it DOES work, for sure. I even sprayed a few and trapped them under a glass and checked them later to make sure they were dead.
Cons: This stuff breaks down really fast in direct light. We used an opaque (non-see-through) white plastic sprayer because I knew this was an issue. It's actually a pro for me that it breaks down in direct light so it's not building up toxins in your house. But, even after using a non-see-through spraying container the stuff lost it's potency after about a week of it just sitting in the sprayer. I have a new small metal sprayer that I'm going to try and see if it works any better.
The container it ships in also leaks if knocked over so watch that. Took me like 2 days to figure out what that intense pepper smell was before I noticed the bottle had tipped over.

(More customer reviews)It does work, but I had to play with it a bit to get the right strength. I used 3 tablespoons to one gallon instead of the recommended 2. This seemed to kill like I wanted it to.
I also like that it is natural so that I can use it around lake water.
I would buy it again.

(More customer reviews)It worked on black sooty mold problem within a week. I think it was caused by a whitefly infestation during a particularly rainy year. Didn't affect stinkbugs, though. I don't think there is any Pyrethrin in it. Works well on sooty black mold, though.

(More customer reviews)This product killed Japanese Beetles on our black raspberries within a couple of minutes. It is listed to kill these beetles on contact, and it does. It also is listed as safe for use up to the day of harvest. It is made with botanical insecticides. It says to minimize harm to honey bees, spray in early morning or dusk, so it apparently can affect beneficial insects as well. I found it took very little to quickly kill the beetles, and I could direct the spray very precisely at the leaves, with minimal overspray. I doubt many bees would be landing on the raspberry leaves. Another caution mentioned is that it is harmful to fish, crabs, and shrimp if there is runoff to such an area. It seemed the safest thing I could find for berries, and it is very effective. It is pyrethin-based and is listed as safe and effective for a wide range of fruits and vegetables against a large number of pests.

I used it a couple of times, but my plant was pretty infested, so it didn't eradicate them right away. You need to do subsequent treatments once a week. I finally trimmed the heck out of it and sprayed again. So far, so good. My plant is bare, but with lots of baby shoots and I'm happy it survived.

So you'll need to transfer it into a container you can use to apply it on your plants. Haven't had it long enough to tell how it works, but I expect it will be fine, as BT is generally effective against caterpillars.

(More customer reviews)I've been using neem spray in my garden for three years. It's versatile enough that I use it on an apple and peach tree, as well as all my vegetables (tomatoes & peppers, squashes, legumes).
The spray has kept all my plants disease free, and limits the bugs I get too. It doesn't seem to phase squash bugs or vine borers, but I have no problems with most common pests (cutworms, japanese beetles, aphids, etc).
