(More customer reviews)Sure -- Rennet is used for all kinds of practical things-- cheesemaking being one of them, ice cream being another. Now I don't know who introduced me to Junket Rennet in that simple humble blue and white box (I see the design has not changed in eons -- good for you Junket!!) when I was a little kid in the 50's -- maybe Mom Sylvia. I think she actually made little Rennet puddings for me for a while, and I loved them. Oh yum!! I still do!!
But eventually the task of making Rennett Pudding using Junket Rennet fell to me -- and only me -- because it turned out that I was the only one eating these wonderful Junket Rennet creations. So (heh heh) I got to eat ALL of it, anytime I made a batch.
I suppose one day I will make the ice cream, and the cottage cheese, but right now, I have my sights set on one and only one thing-- the delightful anticipation of carefully cooking the milk, opening the foil packet, adding the rennett tablet and sugar, popping it in the fridge, and waiting.... I wait a few minutes, open the fridge door, close the fridge door -- come back 5 minutes later and keep repeating the process until...... Ah!! Look!! The white pudding is firm at the edges of the dish, but is jiggling gently in the middle, which means it's time to set this dish in front of my happy face, and sit at the table with a teaspoon, to slowly savor the goodness of a most unusual and refreshing dessert that brings back so many wonderful memories.

Basic Hard Cheese Kit Review

(More customer reviews)First, you need to understand that this kit does not contain all that you need for making hard cheeses. As it says in the introduction to the instruction booklet, if you are making hard cheese, you must also have cheese wax. I don't know why they would sell a kit that doesn't contain all the necessary items, but at least you are now warned.
Second, the instructions are not written clearly. You would be MUCH better off getting your instructions off the Internet, and save your money.
The items in the kit are of fine quality, however, and if you do not really need instructions for cheese making, then this might be fine for you.

(More customer reviews)"Creamy" really is the main aspect of this soup. The color is a pastel version of terra cotta, quite far from a primary red, it's almost pink. I believe this would be wonderful in many dishes due to the high dairy content, such as creating a sauce for pasta. These containers will store at room temp very well for a long period of time, which is wonderful considering it's truly a dairy product. If you are looking for merely a soup, this may not fit your desires, however as a base for substantial dishes, it's a lil box of pre-made magic! I bought this with promotions combined for under 10 cents an ounce, I'm not so sure if I'd buy again at a higher price. I'm very satisfied at the price I received it for however. I will have fun combining the product with other ingredients and seeing what kind of dishes I can create. If you can get this at a discount, you'll probably enjoy having it in storage for future use whenever the "cream" craving hits. Also this arrived as a box within the shipped box, packed so tightly in it's original box that there was no chance of any damage, truly pristine containers arrived.
