(More customer reviews)This rack is misidentified as a "steamer" as it is actually merely a cooling rack. The very first time I used it in water it rusted and stained a brand new stainless steel pot I had just purchased for $100. It is cheap pot metal which is not designed to be used with water or with steam. It rusted so fast it seemed almost magical.
An important note:
The company selling this rack through Amazon on this page at time of posting (MV Trading Co.) does not back up its sales. They simply say "we never said it was stainless" as if selling a steamer which can't be used as a steamer is excusable if you don't explicitly claim it won't rust out the very first time you use it. This company is highly unprofessional in my experience and I would recommend avoiding them at all costs.

Chrome Plated Steel Footed Wire Plate Steam Rack Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted to order a small, circular rack to use in a stock pot I already have, and came across this 9" rack. My pot has 9.5" at the bottom, so it seemed perfect, right?
Wrong. The rack part of this item is indeed 9", but the legs stick out farther than the picture implies. The whole thing ends up being more like 9 3/4" in diameter, which means that if I try, I can force it into my pot, but it doesn't go down all the way, so doesn't leave as much room above it as I would need. It would probably also end up leaving scratches on the inside of my pot after a few uses (not a big deal, since it's stainless steel, but could ruin a pot if someone tried the same thing with a teflon-coated pot)
So... if you want to use this by itself, or in a pot that has at least 9 3/4" of space at the bottom, go for it. The product itself seems fine. It just doesn't work for my purposes.
