I had developed skin cancer and started using this juicer to juice 2 quarts of carrot and apple juice and 1 quart of leafy green vegetable juice, which I drink 8 oz. glasses of spread throughout the day. The cancer abated. The juicer is fantastic. It is quiet, easy to use and easy to clean. We highly recommend it. Even my children (8 years old and up) can use it safely. We also use it to juice wheatgrass, which almost no other juicer can effectively juice unless it is a wheatgrass juicer only. This machine crushes the food then presses it into a dry pulp squeezing nearly every drop of juice out of almost anything. It's Great! If you need a juicer, this is the one. Nothing else comes close. We only wish it came in a solid stainless steel version.

(More customer reviews)I am writing this because I had SO much difficulty finding more than a handful of customer reviews online when trying to find a juicer.
My family has been juicing for years now with a popular-brand centrifugal juicer. My stepdad was diagnosed with cancer and we started researching the Gerson Therapy. This juicer is NOT recommended for the Gerson Therapy, but their system is so complicated and expensive we decided to compromise. We went with a twin-gear because it's a much better juicer than a centrifugal but it's not nearly as much trouble as a 2-stage press system.
Anyway, we love it. We estimate we're getting twice as much juice per-veggie than we did with the centrifugal juicer. We juice at least 4 times per week (for 3 people) so we're thinking the price difference will easily be paid in a year just from the savings on produce.
It's also easier to clean than our old one. The hardest part to clean is the mesh screen... it has some tight corners that the pulp really gets jammed into, but after cleaning it a couple times it gets much faster. The rest of the parts are easy.
I haven't experienced any of the design flaws that the other reviewer mentioned. I mention that review specifically because it almost talked me out of getting this juicer, but I'm glad I decided to go ahead anyway. No juice has leaked out in any weird areas. The only part of the safety hood on mine that got dirty was the top tray around the feed chute, which is easily rinsed off. Some pulp gets into the area immediately around where the gears attach, but that can be cleaned with a squeeze of water from the sponge and a quick wipe-off. No juice got out any other areas.

It provides approximately twice the pulp that the fine screen allows through so If you want a little more fiber in your drink, this will do the job. However, the pulp will separate relatively quickly, so it must be drunk soon after making or re-sturred.

Pour about a third of the bag into a small pot with dirt and water, place it out of the way for 6 days and then it's ready to be eaten. One thing that might happen ( not the fault of the product, it's just what cats do) is your cat might eat a ton of grass and throw it up all over the house. You'll find small piles here and there. The good news is it's easy to clean up. I like this product better than the already-made pet grass from Petsmart or Petco because it's cheaper and I know the dirt and water used to create the plant was safe ( because I prepared it). Overall, great product.

(More customer reviews)If you accept that a masticating juicer gives better quality juice than a centrifical, but you do not want a heavy, awkward machine that takes a long time to set up and longer to clean, then this is a great choice. Omega hit the sweet spot with this product. It is light, relatively small, quiet, and cleans rather quickly (the mesh screen is small and does not seem to hold on to the food), while producing fine juice from a variety of plants. (Impressive on celery and spinach; quite good enough on carrots) The result is a masticating juicer that actually gets used, rather than a (perhaps) theoretically superior juicer that is just too much of a hassle to take out. I have a 31 year-old Champion which I really like; I just never use it except when I am fasting, and sometimes not even then.
One thing should be mentioned. Many single gear juicer ads boast that a slow-turning auger damages the juice less than, say, a Champion because its fast rotation heats the juice and deactivates enzymes and other molecules. Truth is, when I run cold carrots through a Champion, I get cold carrot juice; when I run cold carrots through an Omega 8005, the juice is not warm, but it is definitely not cold. Clearly, if there is less rotation, then the heavy mechanical compression at a certain point produces heat to a greater extent than Champion's rapid rotation does. (I have read one review of another single auger juicer that said its juiced carrots actually came out hot.) Personally, I do not think either type machine actually hurts the juice's chemistry, but Champion should call its single auger competititors on their deceptive claim.
Summary: If you want knock-your-socks off cold carrot juice, get a Champion (although the Omega will still give you a carrot juice high, and, for all I know, its juice will taste just as good if you chill it). If you want bragging rights about the amount of nutrients in your juice, get a Green machine (at almost twice the price, twice the weight, and a long time to clean up). If you want a juicer that probably gives better quality and variety of juices than a centrifical juicer with less noise and no greater cleanup time, get this one. You will actually use it even if you don't have the counter space for it.

I also grow this in trays for my 2 cats who live indoors, deprived of valuable natural chlorophyll. All mammals need it, and we are now enjoying a strong, healthy organically grown variety which is easy to grow and lasts a long time. Wheat grass has larger blades than lawn grass which does not induce the cats to being sick. They crave it and are very healthy with glossy soft coats, their energy levels are better, and they are playing more. Both are perfectly healthy. Chlorophyll is kind of like eating liquid sunshine mixed in with vegetation. It does a body good! If you care about your (or other) bodies, then get this very nice product. The shipping is fast and it is packaged well. The cans are sealed well with a tight-fitting lid. Yes, I am going to continue ordering from this vendor again. They have exactly what I am looking for.

During that time we have experienced many different kinds of wheat. We have used wheat from Texas, Utah, Montana, California, and Israel both organic and non organic. There are two kinds of wheat one can buy: chemical free and certified organic. Most wheat is chemical free in that the farmer might or might not use an herbicide to control the weeds in his fields. If he uses chemicals on the wheat, it will cause a distinct taste in the bread thus no chemicals are used on the wheat itself. Then there is certified organic: Certified organic is the same as chemical free except the wheat is grown by farmers who have not used chemicals on their land for over ten years. The difference is the certification. If a wheat is organic and you grow it in organic soil, it will have the necessary organisms in the soil to help it assimilate the minerals properly.
