(More customer reviews)This olive oil is by far the best I've ever tasted. It's a bit cstly like most really good olive oils are but this is so worth the money! You will not be disappointed. The flavor is amazing, I do not use it to cook with, it's too good for the, it's great on bread or in salad. I promise if you like olive oil you will LOVE this one.

Planeta extra virgin olive oil comes from twodifferent family-owned olive groves. The first is thecenturies-old grove named Ulmo, which surrounds thefamily's winery in Sambuca di Sicilia. The other is a younger grove called Capparrina and is situated on fertile land by the sea near Menfi, in the province of Agrigento. Both groves grow three varieties of olive: Cerasuola, Biancolilla and Nocellara de Belice. The latter represents approximately 60% of total production and is typical of the area. It is recognized for its large-sized fruit and produces an oil with a very distinctive flavor. The other two varieties, Cerasuola and Biancolilla, have a much more delicate flavor. The oil has a wonderful green color and a fresh bouquet of herbs, citrus fruit, artichokes and tomatoes. It has a delicate, full rather than spicy flavor.
